Just dropped the bird off for a new flooran, rocker panel and quarter panel and clear base paint job, hatch tint.

I havent' made my mind up on a color yet. I think I know that i want blue, but i just seen a nice deep purple that got me thinking.
but the interior is from a 1983 and is blue.


I have an 87 Firebird, no gfx, plain jane. It is maui blue, with red hood, white front bumper, cobalt metallic blue doors.

I thought the cobalt metallic blue paint job i got on my last paint job was too dark. In certian light it looked like semi-gloss black. But that wasn't clear base.

I want a darker shade of blue. I couldn't find a nice example of blue in the readers rides. Closest I seen was med maui blue it looked darker than mine, but mines faded.

So in your opinion what shade of blue looks best on a firebird, and if you have color codes....

When the fourth gen came out, I knew I wanted a british racing green. Or a Black/gold 1989 GTA is my favorite.


What tough decision, hopefully i get to live with it a few years, last time lasted two months, but I have a way better alarm now.

Paint it Black??

I see a red hood and I want to paint it black
no colors anymore i want them to turn black
I see the girls walk by dressed in their summer cloths
I have to turn my head, until the station wagon goes

I see a line of Firebirds and they're all painted black
With flowers and my love, both never to come back
I see people turn their heads and quickly look away

I look inside myself and see my heart is black
I see my red hood and it has been painted black
Maybe then I'll fade away and not have to face the facts
It's not easy facing up when your whole world is black

No more will my green sea go turn a deeper blue
I could not forsee this thing happening to you
If I look hard enough into the setting sun
My car will laugh with me before next wednesday comes
