well....it's actually a little of both. I normally have a photo to work from. I start by drawing each body panel at the angle that it appears in the photo. I also use guidelines....I'll put the photo directly above the drawing, and using the guidlines, I can see exactly where everything lines up. That pretty much gives me a bunch of piece to work from...it's cool cuz it't then kinda like actually building the car. I can make any f-body from any photo...so if I want to draw a Iroc, but I don't have a photo at the proper angle, I'll use a poncho. Options/colors/shading etc. is all original art, not copying, but yes, I do use a photo for proportioning/sizing etc.

I'll get 99% done in about 8-10 hours, but I'll never finish it completely...always changing this, or re-doing that. I kinda look at it like building a model. Maybe I'll start one and post daily updates as to it's progress...That sounds like it could be cool.

Yeah, you got it
...the fun part is the shading/rendering. That's what takes me the longest.
...That one is pretty good...pretty much the same angle as the red Iroc I did....I think that's my favorite view.
Anyone else? Hmmmm....where's cornflakekid when you need him!!!

I'm trying to stay away from using specific F-bods in my Tee designs...too much argument over which car to use...by the way, I personnaly like your designs better than mine!
hehe...and I DO like mine!

All of those drawings are really good, especially the yellow IROC, wow. Why have I never seen this thread before. Maybe I should super detail more of my drawings - but it takes so long for me to do that kind of quality. Since my mom is a landscape architech, she knows Autocad pretty well. I think the next phase for me is to do drawings in 3D - then you guys can see all the angles - then maybe I could animate them - then maybe I rework and modify the Grand Turismo Game to insert a thirdgen - how cool would that be. If thirdgens were in Gran Turismo, I wouldn't be able to stop playing.

Well, you got to start somewhere. Being an art person, I never consider myself talented or good because there is always someone out there who is better than me and I can't stand it. I am very competitive an egotisitcal when it comes to art. I don't like being outstaged, thats how I get better at doing drawings because it makes me want to do better.
It is the same way with running a short distance for me. If I race someone to the end of the block I can always win, but only if I feel like I am losing. The moment I see the guy next to me pulling ahead of me, In a way I can add a shot of nitrous to myself (even though I have no energy left) and shoot ahead to win. I feel proud and great not because I won, but because the guy I raced did not win. I can be pretty evil when I am in a competive mood.
In every other aspect of my life, I don't care who is good, better, faster, etc. If any of you pulled up next to me at a stop light looking to race me - I'm going to hand over race to you before you can even look at me. When it comes to doing something creative and different - I'll take anyone on.
