First off, theres a difference between having a discussion, and flaming peoples oppinions and cars.

Secondly, anyone who can keep a 10-20 year old car looking like the day it rolled off of the showroom floor gets some respect from my corner. Its not all about money... its about passion. Stock thridgens are acually becoming quite rare nowadays, and its nice to see one in beautiful condition every once in a while. Booring or not, theyre all beautiful. :hail:

You haven't seen my car have you? It looks 10 times better than it did when it rolled off the showroom floor....even with the LT1, 6spd, 330rwhp, and the 1LE equipment.....so yeah, even though it isn't stock, it's much better. I think that is worth something.

Acually, I have seen your car and it is nice. I never said I was a purist. My car will have more mods in time, when money permits though. Im just saying that theres nothing wrong with stock cars either.

You'd have an arguement about who deserves credit if the thread was about Modifications. If someone had a rusted P.O.S but it was realllllllly fast, he should get votes for appearance just because he's fast correct?

The deal with keeping it stock looking BESIDES the paintjob, and wheels is because I didn't want to put a gay non-functional ram air or cowl induction hood on my car and ruin the good looks that GM gave it from the beginning. Why don't you go put some 4thgen wheels and a 4" cowl on your car and talk about how sweet it looks.

A motor swap itself isnt a walk in a park, and by your sig I see you put alot of work in your ride. I wouldnt even blow off a motor swap as a easy thing. The point I was trying to make was a motor swap has nothing to do with the outside appearance of a car thats all because you said this:

How about the top 10 of each model, "Z28's,IROC's,SC's,RS's,Berlinetta,Gta,TTA,Formula,Firebird,TA, and the special models. Then get the top 3 from each. Then pick the top ten. But thats just my opinion on this

Maybe if the subject was re-worded " reader favorites ", it might garnish better results. Or even " personal favorites" . As it is now, it basically seems like a debate of who should be in the top 10. However again, I think it would be best to close this one and try it again in a month. In order for this to work you would need everyone to submit a pic of their car because theirs always going to be someone " left out" . Every party would have to be accomodated for, yet due to new members joining consistently, and those that don't have digital cameras, this would not work. Its almost like saying " lets compare genitalia" , then in order to be fair someone is going to say " size is not important, functionality is more important". Everyone would need to be accomodated for, and that just cant happen. Ultimately no one is going to bow down and say " that guy's ***** is harder, better, stronger, faster..etc. than mine". Yeah bro known taken. See my buddy and I found the front end at the junk yard like 2 years ago, and we couldn't pass it up becasue its pretty hard to find a good one these days in junk yards. We got it fro like 50bucks too and the guy gave us the TA hood for free with it. Well my buddy got the lil pieces from greece for real cheap and he sent it to Canada to get painted after we did some body work on it. Well after it was painted he went did a few more things to it and than he went and bought a Grand Prix GTP and he had to get rid of the formula cause he already owns a 88 Z28 and still does. So he tried selling that fornula for 4 grand and couldn't find any body to buy it so I called him one day this winter and told him I would buy it fro $2500 and did. Good deal huh. I love the cars its awesome too. But anyways as soon as I spot some trans am gfxs in a junk yard there mine. If anybody here wants to cut a deal with me for some that would be cool too. Well that was very long sorry bout that guys and the lovely ladies!

By the way the flames were on the car when I bought it, and I only paid $5500 for a mint condition '91 Z w/ all options, so even if I didn't like the flames I think I could live with them.

I'm partial to mine as well but if I have to pick someone elses bird to fly it would be flyinlows 89 GTA! Not to mention that he seems to be a real nice guy too!

You got a great deal on that car! My assumption on the front end was right then You should be able to find the rest of the parts in the classifieds on this board if you look closely. There was a guy on this board that used 91-92 Z28 side panels with the GTA front and rears and it looked totally different than all the rest. Might wanna give it some thought if you want to go custom

I have no list, but to me every thirdgen is great; as long as it is in good shape and still looks like one!

RAMARIR350 can we get a straight on front end shot with that ram air hood, I always like to see white birds with ram air hoods cause its reallly rare. Also did you put those TA fenders on or what, cause last time I knew the formulas never had the vented fenders. Yeah guess I'm looling for thos ground effects alrite, so help me if u want.

this almost got closed once b/c it was off topic and starting to become a "what cars would you like to bash on" thread. that is not cool. we have all had opinions on other rides that might not have been the best but those are the opinions that should be kept to ourselves. the point of this site is to talk to people that have things in common--such as loving their car and having an overall respect for the 3rd gens. the moderators should not have to babysit us adults b/c we never picked up on the rules that were taught in grade school(ya know the rule ---IF YOU DON'T HAVE ANYTHING NICE TO SAY THEN DON'T SAY ANYTHING AT ALL)

Well, I happen to like my wheels. I like to be different. Just how old is the factory Iroc wheels? I like them.

I didnt vote for my car, and I wouldnt vote for yours either. I may not have put in a LT1, but I did swap from a 305 tbi to a 350 TPI. I did a complete interior swap, and a complete color change from red to viper blue. Dont forget the ground f/x and hatch.

As far as the stripes go, I wanted it to be different than the factory stripes.

I have just as much time in mine, if not more than you do.
