If we didnt customize our cars, Jegs and summit would go broke.

I have gotten my fair share of parts from them and JCWhitney. Though for most of the custom body parts and engine parts it was a trip to my local yard and Pull-a-Part. Its scary how they know me when I walk in. I must have gotten every accesory and bolt off a 2.8 from a pull-a-part. It was the easiest way to polish, paint, and get things coated. I got spares and worked on them and just swapped them out.
Now if I could just find a nice V-8 just hanging around for RAIF. Heck we got a cadillac 500 ci engine (8.2L) At P-A-P for $110.00 for my Scout II. Then we found a fresh rebuilt (by Holley) carb for it last weekend.

good price on the motor. Maybe you can get a short block out of a truck, and put the heads and intake of your choice. I was thinking about selling my TPI system and going either carb or stealth ram. And Im definatly getting new heads.
Then again a crate motor doesnt sound bad either for your car.

The possibilities are being considered. I just have not settled on what should go in. LS1, LT1, 383, 406...Hmmm.
Hey raif go with the LS1 that would be awesome. Then when someone says one of those ***** comments you show them whats under the hood, bet that would shut them up. The 383 and the 406 wouldn't be bad either.

The only worry I have with the LS1 is that alot of the 4th gen guys in my club with them are having bottom end issues. They have all been into the engine. Its not like they are spraying them heavy either. Its just cam and head work mostly. They keep getting stuck at 380 or so HP, when they should be at 400+.
Believe me I want to do the LS1. Then put the new Magna charger right on top. Wooo! Dang that would be hot. I still have a few months to decide (after show season). We are going to do some research on the other sites and see what is really going on with the LS1. I want a fast reliable motor though. I don't want to have to rebuld it all the time.

LS1's do have reliability problems. Which is why I would definately go with an LT1 if you want a compromise of good power and reliability and good parts. Oh and they look better too!

At Super chevy, I did see a really cool intake cover for the LT1 that was amazing. I got some shots. I will have to post them when I get them developed.
I'm hung up on the fact that the LT1 has been done. I would love the LS1 "wow" factor at shows. But with reliablity issues, it prob isn't worth the risk.
Decisions, decisions...

LT1maro, here I am, its gonna be better A.S.A.P my engine is being rebuilt as I speak to a 383 stroker, and I have lt1intake modified for it. so as soon as I get the engine back it will go in. Should be another week or two

And that's how someone reacts when they feel strongly about something. Some of the guys here LOVE not only their cars but the image that all 3rdGens portray and it angers them to see the purity of that portrayal destroyed. Sometimes I feel the same way. I will say that it makes me feel good knowing I'm not the only one offended by a 3' wing being installed on a 3rdGen.

I'm sure there are others... I really like Flyin' Low 89's car. That one is one of those cars that I just have to look at twice every time I see it.
Dirk's Camaro is amazing! Never seen that one before this thread. Very pretty car.

mmm, i think kandiedz takes it, i think he has the best all around car, i mean air suspension, billet rims, house of kolor paint... etc etc to all the other mods, i just love it. if it was black with a jongbloed hood it would be perfect for my taste, but i do respect everyones car on this site, each has there own distinct character.... good job and props to all
