Road trips and bug splatter, anyone got any ideas/suggestions/tips/tricks?
Ok, my relatives live in St. Louis Missouri and I live in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. It's quite a long drive, bug guts and what not always happens. They want to see my car when it gets done and I'd like to drive it up there to give it the highway workout, but I don't want to get a nice new coat of paint on it and then have bug guts alllllll over it again... I seem to remember, not positive though it coulda been my imagination, that the car magazines like Motor Trend and what not cover the front of their cars in something, I think it was wax paper(maybe???), to keep stuff from hitting and chipping the front end on those long torture/speed test and what not, since most all of their cars are on loan from a dealership/manufacturer. Does anyone know anything about this at all???
Also, my dad was sayin he heard something or thought that you could use that butter in a spray can, like spray paint, and put it on the front of your car to keep the bugs from drying to the bumper.... is this true, will it work? It won't hurt the car I'm guessing? Any helpful hints would be great, share your knowledge guys

Dont know about butter maybe he said that to see if you would try it. But you know those rally cars that go through all those rocks? They have a clear front bra for the rocks that fly up on the bumper. So you can still see the paint and all. I would say get some rain X for you windsheild washer fluid but I used that stuff and all it did was fog up the window. Maybe I just need better blades but I wouldnt use it again. Hang on let me see if I can find a clear car bra.

That looks cool, but they didn't list it for our cars on that site, just our headlights I think....
