These are the clear ones that are dangerous. I think the manufacturers have caught on too because I had a hard time finding them and the ones I did find have been discontinued. Note that there is no red in these at all, its up to the user to correctly install bulbs with covers on them so they glow correctly. But no mattter what you do theyre still harder to see during the day. As far as coming like that from the factory, only in its the altezza style above. The totally clears (below) were completely aftermarket. If he got the ones like below he may have bought the car used.

Clear tailights are just a fad.
in a year or so, clears will be as lame as fuzzy dice.

Out of the clears shown in this thread, the ones with the black grids looks the best, although the stock look is still better

instead of clear, maybe an all red look?

clears are done to death. get creative guys.

Ok, lemme clear this up. The lights refered to as 'Altezza's' today are knockoffs of the stock factory lights on the Lexus IS300. The reason they are called Altezza's is because in Japan the name of the car is the Lexus Altezza (not IS300, IS300 is the American Name). There are many different types of 'Altezza' lights, they have the Euro witch has the shiney reflective metal around the lights, they have the Smoked witch has darker metal around the light and a smoked lense, and then there are the Carbon Fiber witch have carbon fiber around the lights, IMO the best looking one. APC is the main manufacturer of these knockoff lights. Then they have 3 generations of the lights, the first witch was not street legal, the second with looks the same but it street legal with reflectors, and now the 3rd generation witch dont have only rounded lights, its a combo of rounded and squared light squares designed to mimic the factory light locations. You are correct that the 'Altezza' lights are a fad and in fact most people (even the Import ppl) think they are played out and ***** already. Hope that clears some stuff up.

Do you guys not see when i post?????
i had more of a no-dot theme in mind perhaps. maybe jsut solid colors similar to a stock tail light, but inside, with a clear cover. some things are better left unchanged....

Well I dont know what kinda laws there are in Hawaii but here in Dallas Texas laws are different. Some people like clear lights blue lights neons what ever makes your car look flashy though. The cops around here dont like that. Not a old red neck cop that has been sitting in his car waiting to pull someone over. And dont forget its 106% here. That cop wants to write a ticket or pull someone in jail so he can sit in the cool station for a while before he has to go out and do it all over again. Those kinda mods will only get you in trouble around here and its not worth it. 3 reasons why not to get them.

>get pulled over, what ever you have the cop will find
>driver behind you cant see your signal so he hits you
>uhh this one is my opinion some may not agree but
it just doesnt look good. Thats not how we do it in ******* Texas

this is what the law does to us here
