Does Vinyl Damage Paint????

Does Vinyl Damage Paint?

Since even before I got my paint job done I have wanted some 4th gen stripes on it also. But I dont want it to over do it, and there is no way to know without trying it. If I bought a stripe set like one of these:

Firebird Decals

And put them on and have it turn out that I dont like them, Could I get them off with no trace of them ever being there before?

Im not sure which one I want. I like the 30th style, 35th hood stripes, and also the Ram Air style stripes.

There is the possibility of the paint fading around the decal.
If that happens (Takes a while) you with have a darker shade of paint where the decals are/were....

if I didnt like them, they'd come off that day, or atleast that week.

it also depends on how old your paint is...

i put some on my roc(like 2 weeks after i got it painted...i knew they were gonna stay on though) i got into my fender bender had to take off one of the decals and it was a pita to get it off..so what i can say is coming from someone who installs this stuff all the time..when you put it on...make sure that it isnt an overly hot day...get a bottle of soapy water(75%soap 25%water) and just drench the parts that are going to be covered...plac the vinyl on and see what it looks like....(the soap and water makes it longer for the vinyl to stick to the paint, therefore giving you some extra time to judge whether you like them or not...

cuz it takes about 8-10 months for it to harden enough to put "airbrushing" on it...and its still not hard enough..(no lead in the paint anymore)...

so just do what i suggested and you should be ok...but overdo spraying the spots where you want the vinyl..itll be slipperier(is that a word?) then hell but it will help you ALOT!!

ps..post pics when you are done

it'll prolly be a while still, just wanted to know if I should plan on it, or forget about it.
