Z28/IROC-Z emblems no longer available???
I got my new paint job on the IROC. A really cool dark blue metal flake with a nice purple shift. Now I need new "Z28" emblems for the rocker panels and new "IROC-Z" and "5.7 Liter Tuned Port" emblems for the rear panel (bumper).
I got out my Classic Industries catalogue and they told me those parts are now discontinued.
While I was at it, I needed new seat covers too. Leather would be nice. Guess what? They don't make those either.
Is this true? The seat covers are no biggie. I can probably buy used Corvette seats or something.
But what really irritates me is that my car isn't even 20 years old yet, and I can't get any of the emblems!
Does anybody know where those can still be purchased?????????

I would check with a dealer. There might be a few sets of emblems sitting around. As for the seat covers try this link. I have seen a couple of cars that have used Mr. Mikes and they looked top quality.

Try www.yearone.com they should have them in stock.
Or try a chevy dealer. When I painted my car this spring, I was able to by all of the emblems through the dealer.
Hope this helps

try: www.nextgenparts.com Wait, that is Yearone I think. Try them anyway.
Then try to pm or email LFN AT U on the So. Chicago/No. Indiana board. He has everything. His name is Denny and I saw some at his house in different colors.
I guess from now on at the j-yard I am going to start pulling these for profit.

They're discontinued?? Discontinued or not in stock?? I can't believe that they are. Why?? What about when the demand becomes more??

I'd try your local dealer or get the part number and look online. I got a brand new one here in AZ for $20 about 6 mo ago and they had it in stock!

Year One, etc., get their stock from GM. When GM stops making things, these guys stop stocking them. When they get enough demand for a defunct product they MIGHT comission a run of pieces for it.
Or they might not.
I think for decals you might have to get them made at a custom decal place. Anyone know of any really good ones???

Well, I did check the dealership and they still had some, thank goodness. I ordered mine while I could. All the emblems cost me $110, so they're not cheap, but at least they're new. If any of you are even thinking you'll need them someday, you'd better go ahead and order them.
I had the same problem 5 years ago on my Shelby Charger which I had bought new. When I needed new weatherstrip for my sunroof, I found out they were discontinued! I think the manufacturers purposely do that. They're probably trying to force us into buying new cars by discontinuing most items.
It worked, I bought my wife a new Grand Am GT1 Ram Air. Cool little car. Mostly because we don't have anything that can get through the snow!!! I get to drive the IROC all the time now!
Thanks for the links. I'll check into them.
