sometimes i think about going MACCO but then i hear the storys.
count your pennys and a year or two with out a paintjob while you save up for a good one will last you a lifetime (well not maybe that long but longer and better than a MACCO)

you ever see those maaco commercials, cars coming in all beat looking and coming out looking brand new for only a few hundred dollars.. its just hard to believe..

i would get my beater car painted their thats all....

i rather go to a better place up the street to paint my car, before my 1988 formula 350 was wrecked, i got a quote from this place they wanted like 1,4000 to 2000 dollars for a quaility long lasting paint job..

like others have said on the here, they (maaco) have very quick time limits, and this really cuts down on the quality alot.

i was about to go with a MAACO job for $700 when i talked to some people who had their cars painted there. Their advice to me was to save up a little more and find a place that will acually do a good job. They say MAACO uses cheap primer so the paint just chips and peels after a year or two. Then after a couple years, you will be back to where you started and out $700!

Find a place that will sand to the metal, use new primer and good paint. I ended up paying $1600 for mine and it looks absultely great! its also going to last for many many years, as long as i take care of it.

I would deffinately take it to a local shop. My car has been in the paint shop for over 3 weeks now, but I've been up there to see it and it looks wonderful. They're taking their time and doing it right.

They sanded it down REALLY well, they added extra primer, and even went so far as to repaint things that they'd already painted becuase they thought it wasn't good enough (and because they know I'm picky. No, i dont think I'll have to pay extra for that, either) All together it's all going to cost about 4,000.

Don't take the thing to Earl Schieb either. That's where my car was painted just so it could be sold faster. Paint was peeling at the one year mark.

Not trying to put down all Earl Schieb and MAACO companies. It's just so hard to find a GOOD branch of either business.
