Question on paint removal

I dont know how it happend (maybe someone did it to me), but i have silver paint ( my car is black) on the passenger side tire, and frotn groudn effects, on the door etc. Its fiarly heavy aroudn the irocz badge area. Ive tried some bug and tar remover thats clear coat safe, but it doesnt work to well. Got some off but not enough to really keep using it. Im thinking of using a clay bar, and if that doesnt help maybe a light sanding (liek wetsand)...what do you guys htink. Ill take a picture tomorrow when thiers lite. Any help on gettingthis paint off would be helpfull, i really dont want to repaint the car since the paint is in very good condition everywhere else, and id really liek to spend that money on an upcoming vaction to the east coast.
