how do i clean black crosslaced rims??

i got the outside silver part nice and shiny.... now... how do i get the black laced part looking BLACK again? they are practically gray now..

is there some kind of cleaner/blackener i can use or is this require some kind of paint job? i will be getting my ride painting sometime in the future is it possible to have the shop do them at the same time? or like i said do they just need some type of cleaning? anyone?

I'm no expert, but here's what I'd try. I have a proper sized "bottle brush" with fairly stiff bristles from a hardware store that I use to scrub inside all the holes. Even so, it's hard to get brake dust off completely. I'd try one of the tints for black plastic as a way to darken the remaining dust and paint. Hopefully it will dry and not remain sticky like a tire dressing so it won't hold onto new dust. If this doesn't work then I guess it's time to repaint.
After the new paint is on, I'd use a good polymer coating like you'd use on the body. This will help keep new brake dust from sticking to the paint. Polymer coatings are better for this than a wax would be.

I bought some Meguiars wheel cleaner spray, it works pretty good especially if you use a bottle brush with it, if you really want to get into the smaller holes in the center you might have to get in there with a Q-tip though.

GTA wheels are some of the hardest wheels to clean with the 20 V spokes. I got the black ones so I would not have to worry about cleaning the brake dust off all the time. The same method that 2xsess uses works for me too.
