How would I go about polishing my SLP runners?

I was thinking about polishing my SLP Siamesed runners, but how would I go about doing it?

While I was inspecting them I noticed that they look painted to match the plenum, but the casting is rough. Is that the paint or the runners themselves that have that textured feeling?

Does anyone have experience with these?
