another
Could find scant info from the guy "in charge". He really did not know much about this car except that the rear end was all custom. This car had HANDS DOWN the best tailight mod I've ever seen. BUT, I dd not have a stinking camera and could not find one to buy to take a pic of it. If anyone has a pic of this car from the back PLEASE post.

Looks like the tail lights are from a Fiero GT or at least the idea is from that. Had Pontiac in the middle and lit up at night and the sides kinda looked like that. See if I can find a pic....

oooooh yeah thats the one:hail:
I looked that light over and over when I was at the show. The corners of the tailights (as you can see) are gone. I dig it alot. When I looked closer...into the assembly, I saw that the original light assemblies were gone and were replaced with unidentifiable reflectors. I've also never seen a camaro with that lowered license plate molding, much less anything like that one piece looking spoiler-rear quarter panel job. What a nice piece of work!!!

They do look like Fiero lights at first I thought they looked like Beretta lights but then I went and found a picture of a Beretta and they're different.

The rear looks like crap with the wing and all, but the rest of the car looks great. It was at Carlisle last summer.

That thirdgen was at the Michigan GM Gathering at Mid-Michigan Motorplex this year. Pretty interesting thirdgen. They didn't race it though or pop the hood. They raced their B4C police car and their Camaro SS 302
Here's some more pics from Camaro Superfest '02 in Ann Arbor, Mi
The color is close too the color of my car, just seems to have a slightly brighter orange...

Ya know,I wouldn't doubt it if the car was actually a T/A with a Camaro front end. Also having the Camaro interior and the tailight panels with the corners cut off,and just grafted the wing on..

I like how they moved the license plate down on the rear end.

i'd replace them with new ones...........i don't know how many times it has saved my paint wether it was some careless jerk at a show, parking lot, etc. or someone who rode with you and doesn't now what there doing...
all it takes is one "oh man i'm sorry" then what......... you make the decision.

I never got to see the front or sides of that Camaro. I love that Camaro. Wow. That is exactly how I envision my Camaro would look like if I owned one.
I love the clear headlight covers.
I love the blood orange paint.
I love the custom body work.
I love the 17 inch wheels.
I love the taillights.
If only I could see the engine bay and interior. I love the look of that car so much.:hail: :hail: :hail:

I saw that car a few weeks ago in Evansville, IN for the My Classic Car autofest.
Its an IROC not a Trans Am. The plaque by the car said it was a test mule for the GM team. The car came to a Mr. Jordan I believe and he didn't want to scrap it. So he used it to test a paint color...ie...the one you see on the car. It went on to say that the rear was modified just for the heck of it and the interior was redone in genuine Italian leather.
It didn't go into detail on how the rear was made. It also said that the car was delivered to him with the transmission in the back seat.

It was pretty much used and abused and he restored it and daily drove it for a while.
Pretty interesting story.....but yep it is a genuine IROC.

hmmpf...well what do ya know..I just commented that because of the T/A rear 1/4panels,tail light surroundings, bumper cover and side marker lights and thought that it was a T/A with a Camaro front end. Thanks for the explanation on the car.

Hey guys I saw that car about a year or two ago at the dream cruise in michagan, I too stared at her forever. If I remember correctly it had a info sheet buy it and it was a concept car straight from gm.They were testing aerodynamics thats why it has the wing and the clear headlight covers and everything. Also it is the same sunset orange that they use on the new ws6's

It was an original IROC from the factory and it was modified by Mr. Jordan

I have no idea who he is. My wild guess would be he's a GM rep or something. He purchased the mule from GM and did some custom work to it as a test car. Tested paint and the body work. Thats all I know from what I read on the plaque next to the car. It didn't go into too much detail.
You only need to look at the B-pilars to determine a Camaro body from a Firebird body. The body line at top edge of the door (where it curves into the exterior window seal) continues straight through the quarter panel on a Firebird. On a Camaro, this body line takes a 90 degree turn upward at the leading edge of the B-pilar.
