SLP Intake Runners

Not the right forum but I like you guys and you probably know what's going on. The polished SLP Intake Runners... what can I say? They look awesome, are supposed to gain 20 hp and are just cool as hell. A scam? Spill your guts.

they aren't worth the money :-) just my 2cents, first I'd do gears then the runner, because they KILL your lower end power.

if your car is stock there is no way in hell you will ever get 20hp from them.... you may actually loose hp if you dont match the plenum and the gaskets to the runners aswell. I certainly would (catback, or gears if you got 2.73s) spend my money elswhere unless you got a great deal on them or something. (thats really the only reason i bought them resently, i dont expect to see much from them untill i build the 350)

I have them on my car, plenums fully ported & Siamesed, gasket matched of course.

I felt no bottom end lose but I do feel a significant top end gain, I can rev up to 5,500rpm's easy and it pulls hard, thats my shifting point.

I am going to the local track tomorrow and getting some times to see how much of an actual gain I have gotten off the runners.

what gaskets did you use? the ones that came with mine were same size as stock and need only a small amount of porting to match. also did you move the divider back more. and if so how much?

Those are the gaskets I used, I siamesed the gaskets and ported the runners to match, then ported and siamesed the plenum to match the gaskets, vuala a gasket match.

I left the runners the stock siamsesed size they came as seeing as how my car has neither headers or a cam, and I don't need to lose any more bottom end tork. I did however go over them with a grinder to smooth the siamesed parts out, the castings were pretty ruff.

And just so you know, the polished ones are so not wortht he money, save yourself the cash and get the non polished ones, wait for specials. I was also one of the people that was lucky enough to get them for 1/2 the price!
