First year that I won't drive it during winter. But in the past if it was snowing, no go for me. These cars suck in the rain let alone snow.

Just be sure to wash it to get the salt off if it's a problem for ya.

I paid $1750 with 62k miles. It's slow as a terd, but 30mpg, I don't care. And I can mod the iroc now.

Gotta get her on the road ASAP, the bird was wayyyyy too cold thismorning. couldn't see through the frost on the windsheild cause the heat doesn't work. it's all good i love her still, hehe.

Im very pleased to say that Im finally NOT driving the IROC in the winter anymore. She's retired to a pure summer/pleasure driver. Im sure some of you remember the pics I posted last winter when she was all covered in salt *yikes*
I recently bought a Black '95 Tahoe Sport 4x4 350TBI for a daily driver. I LOVE it!!!

Well I only had to drive my car in one winter last year so I guess thats not too bad. This year I get to see how bad Merkurs are in the snow.

I drive my car all season long. I don't drive it as much in the winter time because it so cold outside. I will drive it in snow though if it is a short distance. I don't want to have to drive my car in the winter, but I don't have a choice since it is my only car. At least when I go home for holiday breaks, I can borrow my Mom's car and give my Bird a break.

Wash her and place her in the garage for a nice winter sleep. I am looking for a beater now, because I don't want the salt to ruin my truck either. Got my eye on a Chevette diesel . Waiting for owner to e-mail me back whether its been sold or not. Everyone of us owes the Chevette some thanks. If it wasn't for those little sh*tters, GM would never have been able to obtain a average gas mileage to keep your uncle Sam happy. We'd all be driving 2.5L f-bodies.

I drive my RS all winter, but I do my best to keep it out of the snow. As long as I keep it clean and make sure to get all the road salt off it seems to be fine. I'm going to store my trans am this winter, so as soon as it snows it's bye bye TA I wish I had tags on my 83 Z so I could store the RS too. It hurts to see it get all dirty from the winter slush.

winter time i pull out my other camaro.... 86 2.8 litre 5 speed car, not very fast but it is a fun little winter car. I plan on pulling my 406 back out of the black z28 and putting on some vortec heads, new roller rockers, air gap intake, 800 cfm edelbrock and a SS hood.

Rhode Island sure is nice in the other seasons though, but none of us can beat having a winter in Hawaii like Crazy Hawaiian.

RI is nice in the spring/summer. Beaches are nice. You can drive from one end of state to other in 45 minutes too. I just hate snow. Maybe I should buy a snow mobile then it will never snow here.

The ZZ4 is driven year round. In Milwaukee, if the weathermen say an inch of snow, theirs 2 inches of salt on the road. But the bodys in perfect shape, no rust or anything yet. The other winter driver is an 87 Monte aerocoupe. Its good in the snow, just don't floor it

I've always driven my car in the winter, every year since '94. Only "attack" was from the rust I thought I killed when I did bodywork to the car (didn't know that primer wasn't waterproof, rear quarter rusted away, i sanded the rust away and thought life was good again). Never wiped out like so many people do, I think the thirdgens are excellent in snow. Just remember that you're not driving an SUV, and you'll do fine. I don't even have any sandbags or cement bricks or any of that crap. I even drove in that NJ blizzard of '96, when NJ closed all the roads, stopped plowing, and told everyone to stay home. That was a fun drive.

Oh yeah, I had a problem one winter... couldn't climb hills. Had no idea what was wrong until I noticed my rear tires were bald- oops.

But after every snow, I zip over to the local shoot-it-yourself power wash, and spray the undercarriage with soap, then rinse it with water. Then if I have time left, I'll spray down the inside fender lip of the rear quarter panel, I rest the power sprayer (or hose, if I'm at home) right against the inside of the lip, and let it spray. I also shoot water between where the front plastic inner fender meets the front metal outer fender.

On a rainy day like this, the 91 is under 2 covers, and wont see daylight till the puddles are gone. The 86 is a daily driver, rain sux, t-tops leak. I will be adressing that issue soon.

I drove my RS in the winter, and last year I drove the IROC in the winter. Slid around a lot, but I got used to it. I also went to a DIY car wash and sprayed the bottom off every week to keep salt off. This winter, I may be getting a winter car, and I'll be putting on my LT1 intake and possibly a cam swap and/or headers

Snow sux.... my TA does horrible in the snow. I am usually able to keep her going, but every once and a while theres a turn that she won't turn for or a stop she can't make. Luckily, so far these have occured on empty streets instead of somewhere with others out driving.

In the summer, if im going to my buddys house to hang out, why take the IROC there, to just leave it parked in the street for 5 hours, when I can just take my other car?

Now if im going crusin with my buddies, or goin to savannas, I rip out the IROC.

It's too bad I didnt see ya drivin around in your car this summer....

Exactly, that's why I drive my Stang all the time now, no reason just to take the car out when it's goin to be sittin parked.

I hear ya bro!

I do kinda get some **** for not driving my car all the time in the summer from people. But it's not there car, therefore they should mind there own business and maybe buy a camaro of there own and drive it all the time as they say I should, instead of telling me what to do with mine.

Cobain, I don't see how someone could even tell you this. I don't know of anyone I hang out with all the time, that even knows you. So how would they even know when im driving my car? Maybe I got a stalker

Yea, sorry about the rant. I wasnt directed at you or anything. Not one time this summer did I ever hang out with Dan or Jen, so how do they know when I drive my car? But I dunno i'm not mad or nothing. Just sick and tired of people saying I don't drive it enough.

Dude, I went to mad cruise nights this year, I can't believe I never seen you there. I went to Savannas alot too. I think I might have seen your car a few times at the pool hall in the summer?

Anyways, getting back on topic, did everyone remember to put stabilizer in their gas tank?

I think I forgot to put heads/headers/carb/intake back on. Oh yeah, I've ordered the heads and still need to order the headers and carb.

Well, in your best interest, you should not order the headers for yourself. And instead buy them for me

I just sent my left side header to the machine shop to have header flange machined flat. Wouldn't seal against head. You can actually see the flange angled instead of being straight. If I sent machine bill to SLP do you think they'd pay.....I didn't think so.

That beer sig is cool!

>I skid and slide everytime it rains or snows. Well when I do it its on purpose. I can put that car damn near sidewayz on the street then pull it back out in a straight line. Its good practice for when ever there might be a accidental skid. That hasnt happen yet, all of the fishtails and doughnuts have been on purpose. These carz handle pretty well. It may take ya a while but you get use to it and it gets fun and addictive. Just the other day I was late to work and it was raining out. I had one cup of coffee in my right hand and the wheel in the left. I know the Main 4 lane street that I pull out of is extremely oily when it rainz. I pulled a phat azz fishtail right out of my apartments. I know a load of morning drivers saw that. Hehe... wonder what they though. If you havnt found out this is fun yet then I wouldnt recommend it to you cause you might not know how to drive. Then you would wreck your car blaming me saying "well this guy on the internet did it!" You know what On a second though forget what I said and dont try it unless your in a great big parking lot with no carz. THat alwayz works. HA! now I can say I told you so if you wreck! BBBAAHAHAhahaha..........wtf its 1:30 in the morn. Guess since I got fired I have nothing to worry about. pos job. .........

Yeah it's fun doing the fishtails......

Try this though.....

drive straight at about 25 mph.........then at the same time turn the wheel as hard as you can and floor it.........

After the @ss end kicks out turn the wheel as much as you can the opposite way.................

You can slide for a while horizontally in a parking lot........the closet i will ever get to drifting.....

That's why I get a Chevette for a winter beater. Still rear wheel drive, to have all the fun I want. Has to have a functioning parking brake too. I can also tell everyone "I got a vette"

Beer sig makes me thirsty every time I see it.
