how much would a cheap paint shop (macoo (?)) charge to paint a hood only. just the hood i do all prep work

I'd be worried about the hood not matching the rest of the car if you did that (comparing xx year old paint to brand new paint).

Don't know how much but you could try doing it yourself like I'm going to do. Just get a hold of a paint gun and compressor and do some reasearch and maybe talk to the guys at the place that you would get the paint from and they could probably give you a few tips and pointers. You probably couldn't do any worse then the typical Macco man.

I've thought the same thing, about doing getting a new fender, but matching it would be hard to do, but I guess better than a dent.
I can't see them charging too much, if they can do a whole car for $200.

It can't be more then $200, cause then you could tell them to do the whole car, which last time i check included the hood......
