Question of value

One of my local banks has a 91-92 gta in pretty crappy shape, and I'm wondering if I should pick it up cheap for restoration or parts. The front drivers side ground effect by the front bumper is missing, there is rust all over the car, missing a headlight, interior is decent, but not great. Don't know mechanics of car, debating on a test drive. It has aftermarket t-tops, so I'm not sure if it's a 350 or a 305.

What do you guys think? Should I put a bid on it? I wouldn't go more than 500 for the shape its in, I know it's driveable, because it's been moved. I think it's worth it for parts at the least, to go into my eventual new ownership of a thirdgen.

Should I check it out, and post more info? Let me know what you think.

If it is an auto it should be a 350. If the engine and trans are in good shape and you can get it for around 500 I would say go for it.

It's a 350. The engine itself seems to be okay, I didn't drive it though, I was scared to. The thing seemed like it would fall apart the minute I took it out of gear. Overall the car was in very poor shape, and I would just send it off to a junkyard.

The seats are ripped up, but the power seemed to work, the tailights where in okay shape but didn't have the pontiac logo on it(most don't anymore). The rest of the car was horrible.

Parts worth saving, not sure. It's beyond restoring, but I would say the engine might be worth it, it seemed strong despite having 117k on it. Exhaust was full three inch and seemed to be fairly new. Suspension was shot, ground effects are shot, body is rusted...etc. Seats might be worth it to get recovered. Tail lights would be worth it. Rims(GTA) would be as well.

I'm torn. I put a bid of 500 on it, but I really don't know if these parts are worth it considering the wear and tear. Anyone have some advice?
