Looks Good! If you are doing the knight rider nose you should do the Knight rider black outs as well. They go good together!

Oooh my!!! I have to admire your tenacity, I'd have dropped those two cars into the firery pits of hell if I saw them. Actually I'd have just ignored them. I can't wait to see the completion of these two insane projects. Redraif, LT1, you've got an incredible amount of work ahead of you!

Not to bad.
For $300 between two Trans ams total I feel you guys got a good deal. A couple nice engines and some paint and A LOT of work and those cars will look sweet.
Keep us posted on the progress.

Nice score on the free 82 trans am. The outside of that car looked similar to my 84 when I first got it. Except mine was complete....taillights and original hood, and such. But as far as the dirt and rust, its very close to what I saw when I first got mine.

The interior is another story! Geez that is pretty messed up inside, but like you said it will allow for some good custom work. Not bad for free!

Good luck with it. Im looking forward to seeing the progress with it.

Long live RAIF2!!

I wish I had known, I was looking for them on Monday. Some one had the back, but not the cushions. I got a black set from Zepher, but I had to replace his buddies back seat in order to get the PMD rears. Hawks bailed me out though. He sent a black rear seat to replace the PMD seats so I could get the whole set. I would ****** yours to have another set, but I would prefer the split rear seat and since the fronts have to be recovered anyway, I will get the split rear done to match... (red & black)

As far as the body design. It will come together as it goes along. I have already aquired a spoiler for it. A Fiero Gt spoiler, yep the big one... We tried it on a junkyard car and the thing looks awesome. We think it was actually made to put on the birds and somehow they never did it. Honest, it looks like it was made for the car. The length is perfect for the bird rear. Now I have to get a virgin deck lid! Ok, I will get some pics of it resting on the car this weekend.

Also I finished one of the 2 taillights. I spent a good 4 hours sanding it down and polishing it back up the passenger side tailight. It looks awesome now. Some plastic polish and it will be perfect. There was residue on the plastic from the grids. I had to take out the ridges with 320-600-800-2000 then rubbing compound should have pics monday....

Along with some cleaning up pics. Carpet and all will be taken out and we plan to get the body primed. Tackle all the rust and make a list of what will have to be replaced. The Scout will get primed too. Its gonna be a long weekend!

I know how the Fiero spoiler will look on it. It is a bit unusual at first, but it looks alright, especially on the 82-84 body. I'm kind of wondering what kind of design will be used for the side exhaust.

I plan to have the exhaust integrated into the side gfx, but exactly how is still stumping me. Any ideas? Probably a slender rectangular opening.

The tail pipe needs to be slender height wise, to fit. There isn't a whole lot of room to work with. I have some ideas though, I'll be working on some more ideas over my Thanksgiving break.

If the tailpipes are going to be towards under the ground effects, they would have to be pretty thin, but if they are going to be higher up, only 1 tip would fit.

Raif, I have a stainless lt1 style exhaust tips on my side-exit dual exhaust. Stock ground effects dont go below the pinch weld so you're going to have a hard time routing pipe through any ground effects without running to the frame/sfc's/body.

There is a guy in my fbody club who has side exhaust in his custom side gfx. I will probably do something like he has. I dismissed it at the time because I liked the center quad exhaust for RAIF. I wish I had some pics. Its on his 4th gen.

Ya, for sure you'd have to make some custom ground effects :-) It would look cool...

They will be. I'm not sure about the cats. We have to decide if it will have to pass emisions or not. But it will prob have to have a cat. Though all this is down the road. Have to get the engine first!

This car will be fast first! Then the body will finally get all its pieces.

Thats a good idea. It is better to have a fast car with little looks than a car with a lot of looks and no speed.
