Is it OK for a peg leg to try? I am down to 1st and 2nd with my TH350 and have a open diff in the back. If my wife will help me push it back out of the driveway then I can try. She used to think that it was great to burn the tires until we had to shell out $1400 for wheels and tires.

its something that goes on and locks the front brakes so that you dont burn up the rear shoes when doing a brake stance. you can engage/disengage this so that you can do normal driving also.

OK guys i went out and tried it. I put some bleach in a water bottle and poured 4 packets of green kool aid in it. It did some kind of weird reaction and got real warm. It then started to foam out of the bottle. After that was over it seemed fine so i poured it on the road on where i found a patch of tar.

As for the result no color other than white smoke.

Same thing that happened on mine. I got my first good burnout in my dads car too. Except I put 5 packs of Orange Kool-aid in a bottle of spring scented chlorox. Nothing but white smoke. and the ground looks kinda funny too. Nice yellow looking color with a long black mark.

have u guys thought of not useing bleach? becuz for a big smoke show u use the bleach and it burns or smokes white. but just use say like 6 packs of koolaid in just regular old tap water and see if anything changes.

The reason it bubbles when you add the kool-aid is because it is basic (ph of about 13, sorry I should put down the crack pipe when I'm posting ) and eats it up. I wonder what would happen if I used some chlorine from work (12.5% sodium hypochlorite, basically really strong bleach, I work at a pool). Does anybody know if it would do anything, like make more smoke?

there is a cheap-**** way of doing it.

get a gas ball valve from a hardware store. Get an engineering shop to turn a couple of adapters that go from gas type thread to normal brake fitting thread. put valve in front brake line.

when you use it, push the brake pedal turn handle, let go of brakes. your front wheels are now locked. when you want to roll out of the burnout, simply release valve...

I made one of these for a mates pro street modelB roadster, and he used it as a handbrake for the MOT as well.

You don't need any tricks to get a large burnout, this was done on the brakes (no line lock) with a 78 monza 305 engine and TH350 (250 000+ miles) and no bleach, just a little water. the car ran a best of 17.99!

tyres have a lot to do with it as well,

I was running cheap radials, and spinning up for about 15 secs, no one could believe how much smoke i was getting.

My mate was in a 66 chevelle with 500 inch caddy lump, he was spinning his old general grabbers for 30 secs plus, and getting no smoke at all

Untill the car ran, evryone thought i must have a mega hot / supercharged / nitros snorting engine

(ignition timing was well out, as was mixture, so it idled like it had a wild cam in it!)

some water with alot of koolaid might work better, it makes sense that the bleech would eat up the koolaid...i think just water and koolaid might work...

Has anybody done this yet? Do you got pictures of it?

I saw on a magazine cover about a year ago that had a 60s model camaro (it was orange) that was burning out and had red smoke.

True story:lala:

I'm a kiwi so I'm not too smart. After readin all the cool-aid pre burnout posts I thought I'd get this sorted once and for all.

I was so excited at the prospect of green smoke I drove my car threw every red light there was at 80mph to the local K-mart and picked up 2 dozen packets of Lime Kool-aid and a gallon of industrial Cyclone bleech.

Did I tell ya I live next to a paddock full of sheep?

Anyway, back home I'm lookin for a container to mix up the brew in while i was in the garage when out the corner of my eye a sheep walks under the roller door and stands there lookin at me.
Not to act scared or anthing incase this thing attacked, I found the container which was an old metal bath and put it on the bench. Grabbed the bleech and koo-aid and chucked it in...all of a sudden there was this HISSING and POPPING and GUGGLING sound comin from the bath!!! I started to back up fearing for my life, when this angry low, guttural, menacing grawl started comin from the sheep which was behind me!!! next thing the sheep charges at full speed and knocks me into the bath , which flys in the air and onto the mad sheep completely covering it in the HISSING brew.....this thing took off or tried to, legs going like blazes but it wasn't moving probably coz of the bleech. I stared in AWE as GREEN smoke started to come up from the crazed sheeps hooves and then BOOM!! it gained traction and tore outta the garage at what musta been near on 50mph!!

Honest!!

Test completed Kiwi style/ it works.

Last thing I heard was that the sheep in the paddock have been seen moving around in gangs with menacing looks on their faces.
We might be seeing the start of an counter attack.

As to the sheep that got soaked, he's the leader.

Anoyone use a lot of kool-aid. I am not seeing why this wont work. I guess the white smoke would be to much for it.

Kool-Aid Family Pack tin (Radical Raspberry) - $10.99 - For those who don't know, it's a small bucket of the stuff (NOT the sugar already added sh*t, either)

We dumped about 3/4 of the stuff on the (somewhat icy) pavement, and added VERY little IGA brand bleach...my friend ('86 Bird, 2.8 and all) peg-legged it, and rolled a bit forward onto it....at first it kinda just sprayed the powder backwards, but once the rubber started to melt, the smoke started to go reddish...next time w/ the digital camera, we'll use a more profound colour, yellow or lime green seeming the most profund. Go! Do it!

...I somehow feel a small sense of accomplishment here....

Done and done!!!

All you have to do is to cover your rear tires with the koolaid powder while it is dry and then put water on top (i rung out a wet rag to do this without washing it off) so that it is wet enough to stick to the tire, but is not completely soaked all the way through (partly dry inside the piles) and then let 'er RIP!! I used some purple stuff, so i know its was real. It wasn't a really intense color, you could just barely make it out, but it did happen

oh yea, no bleach used.

btw, was the same color (more or less) as this little dude---> :hail:
