What is underneath the Louvers?
I hate the Louvers, they make drying after a wash a pain and they look all madmax industrial car style =P I don't want to put on the Blisters if I don;t have to, so what is underneath the Louvers? If its nice smooth metal Ill be happy.

I don't like the louvers... theyre like "armor" or something. I'd like to pull em and bondo/paint the unsightly blemishes underneath.
The blisters are expensive =(

get the blisters or keep the louvers, or just get a used RS hood for like $200 on Ebay

I'd say keep the louvers
you can always take them off and spray paint them. and for a quick fix you can hit them with armor all to make them shine.

My hood louvers house momentum propelled rockets. Occasionally when im driving and the car see's a Rycer it doesn't like, it comes to an abrupt stop, my hood louvers raise up and rockets (oddly shaped exactly like the hood louvers) shoot forth at the rycer. Yeah, its one of my secret mods... Only problem is ammo is limited to one shot per hood louver and I have to retrieve them from the burning pile of rycer that I just decimated... Yup..

In another more interesting scenario, I remember once being on an open stretch of highway. It was a beautiful day, t-tops down and not a car in sight. So I gunned it, and as I was flying down the highway just passing 110, a little honda a half mile up the road was pulling on to the highway slow as hell, and into my lane. I was preparing to accept defeat as I knew that honda was not going to be able to gain enough speed to get out of my way. Just then, a secret panel on my dash flipped over and switch on it shined brilliantly. Under the switch was a label that said "out ma way biach". That said enough to me, so just as the honda came in range, I flipped the switch and my hood louvers flew up, over and behind the car onto the street. As this was happening, a cross hair with targeting system appeared on my windshield, and my shifter swiftly disappered into the console only to be replaced by a joystick with a top hat and multiple trigger positions. I sat waiting expectantly for the mini stinger missles to rise into position from where the hood louvers once were, yet there was a malfunction in the fuxUup mechanism. The missles would not launch, so the system quickly reverted to normal status and I had to slow down and accept defeat. This honda had fuked up my perfect day. I made sure to give him a proper salute as I changed lanes to pass him.
Gotta work on those stingers... they come in handy... its amazing what you can stuff under the hood of a third gen these days...
(This story is for the many of us that this has happened too... go over 85, hood louvers fly off, and you sit waiting anxiously for some machine guns to pop out the hood thinking your car was the batmobile..)

Even though I like the louvers, A cool solution would be to take the louvers off, weld up the holes, and paint the area where the louvers go black. It would look similar to the 82-84 Z28 style hood.

Umm yes my hood IS black, and no I still don't like the louvers even after the two funny stories. I'd like a plain RS hood more than blisters or bondo tho.
