The Import Camaro (REAL THREAD)

I went to Importfest 2002 this year at skydome. Here is a camaro they had there. It's different, not too bad, not too good...

I'm sorry to anyone out there that has that front clip, but no way in hell would I do that to my car. Nope I don't like it! Sorry not trying to flame anyone either. To each their own right.

That is the worst part, not only do they have the need to try and fit in, is it a law to get those mufflers? if you want to be like an import

i could bash it a lot, but some of it, is nicely done as workmanship, the front clip has some weird plastic crap on it.

It gets two big thumbs down, in my book.

EDIT: I'm talking about the purple one with nasty 10,000,000 spoke rims, by the way.

That's better, well more "MY" style anyway. Wish I went to this show though. Nice to know what the imports are up to, or what's up their sleeves

Well it looks like he took alot of ideas I had and ruined them. Its obvious whoever built that car had alot of money to spend. But if you ask me it dosnt look smooth. They could have done alot better if they paid attention to the small details and didnt go for the 'TF&TF look'. I really like the custom front spoiler with the exception of the cutout right below the hood in the middle and the cheap looking wire they use behind the other cutouts. The probably the best looking 'new style' custom front bumper I've seen for a 3rd gen yet. I like the custom rear bumper but I dont think those exhaust pieces match the car or the bumper. I like the wing even though its a Supra style and I usually dont like Supra style wings. They shaved the mirrors but didnt shave the handles. Then they installed the hot rod type mirrors on the A-Pillars?!?! The sideskirts look like stock 91-92 pieces cut up and filled with that cheap wire stuff again. They're killn me with the 17-18" wire knockoff wheels. That pretty much ruins it for me. The paintjob is nice but I dont know what it is supposed to be. Maybe lightning?

Overall it gets a 6 out of 10 from me. I think they had alot of great ideas but they ruined it with the poser TF&TF look. If they just changed a few things and went for a smoother true race look, I think it could be a show winner.

Umm..... OK I do give credit for the labor involved, even though it is far from my choice of a good looking car.

Read the sticky at the top of this forum. DO NOT POST stupid pointless attachments. You're wasting server hard drive space.

I'm really not crazy about that front end, but I think the back end would've looked good had they chopped it right above where the tailpipes stick out, and not put those pipes on there. Paint is interesting, but those wheels just don't flow with the rest of the car whatsoever. The front/back ends look like something from Fast & Furious, but the wheels look like they're from a rap video. Interesting car nonetheless.

I totally agree. Knockoffs or not, wire wheels dont match the overall look of the car. Mixing low rider style with racer style will never make sense to me.

I like the front end, minus the hole in the front middle........

I like the rear end minus the supra wing and import mufflers.....

Could use some different rims....

That is a SWEET paintjob........:hail: :hail:

Anyone notice the mirrors??......

Easy, is that an american phone number or Canadian number???
Thanks

No real need to start with why do Canadians do this, or that. Maybe he is American?? Seriously no flames guys. To each their own. You don't like it,, fine not a probelm, I personally don't for the most part either, but I'm not making comments about why whoever did what.

Man, that purple car is a waste of a Camaro. Someone needs to slap that guy across the face so he'll wake up and realize that CAMAROS ARE AMERICAN MADE CARS! What is it doing at an import show????? That's just ridiculous! Not to mention, I lost my appetite. I'm not even gonna waste my breath talking about it anymore!

There are places in the US that arent dominated by domestics. Take Hawaii for example ... there are about 6 big shows a year. 5 of them are import shows. You can enter domestics but majority of the cars are imports. So if you want your domestic to be seen more than once a year, it needs to go into shows with Imports. This guys seemed to be going for two looks. First he was going for the GT racing look, which you guys refer to as the Import look. Then he was going for a low rider look, which IMHO dosnt match the GT racing look at all. Ruins it for me.

WEELLL, if you want to get technical, you're right CAMAROS ARE AMERICAN MADE CARS. Therefore, they are IMPORTED into Canada.

This doesn't really apply to 4th gens, but 3rd gens were made in the 'states.

Nearly everything is technically IMPORTED into Canada. We're not the 51st state, yet!

Of course this is only an opinion, but that purple car is a monstrosity. I don't like either of the "looks" that they were going for and you're all correct in stating that the things done to it do NOT go together at all. I think the front grill gets me the most. What were they trying to make it look like? there's a hole for no reason, a gap under the hood, and then something that i can only compare to gills or hanging sea weed on the bottom. Their taste could not possibly differ from mine any more than it does. As a Camaro lover, I am offended. lol

PS- the mirrors are just simply retarded. no style points there for sure
