well finally got the chance to post some pics of the stripes! theres only 4 pics-but you get the idea. The last two pics are cool cause I found my cars exact-twin-makes a nice before/after pic.

I don't think the stripes look that bad, I could probably give you more if the pictures were larger.

To be honest, at first I thought it was a big mistake to put the stripes on, but it grows on u ya know! especially the before/after pic-the other car looks boring! but whatever, thats why I wanted to see what u guys think

looks pretty decent, taillights, uhhh?? anywho a little fyi, be prepared for you stripes to start peeling after a couple of years, at least thats what my did, but you might have better quality stripes. ehh oh well good luck

i started out wanting stripes, then i realized that i did not like how they looked. this is what i decided on...

 

I like it. And I like the taillights.

 

I like the stripes.
The Gunmetal gray looks great with silver
stripes. However the tail lights don't do much
for me, but hey its your car do what you like.

 

Am i missing something or is the wing MIA on that gta. It looks clean and smooth. i like it.

 

Yeah I also noticed the missing wing, I kinda like it w/o. I think the stripes look badass, nice color choice. Not too sure about the tail light covers, why hide the factory ones, IMO they're one of the best designs ever, esp. the 91&92's

 

yea guys the factory wing is off cause I didn't like it-I was going for a corvette look-thats why I took off the wing, and did the tail lights that way-and those aren't covers-thats painted on! I gotta get a pic of the lights at night-looks exactly like a vettes!

another thing-my car came w/ the gold-honey comb gta wheels-today I spray-painted the gold on the inside of the rim a silver-metalic color-looks hot, gonna take some pics tom. and show u guys

 

I am not a fan of stripes except for the wide ones that are close together and don't have pinstripes. Doesn't look bad though.


I like the no wing look on Birds with ground effects.


Taillights - I can't believe you would mask the those taillights out like that. Those lights are not exactly easy to come by. I think they looked perfect just the way the are.


I like the gunmetal color.

WOW, your wheels look so much better than before. There's a lot of silver/platnium on that car. looks like you did a pretty good job on your rims

 

By far, my favorite color combination. Looks great, would do it to mine if I had one. Well, that wasn't 2 tone and for sale. I'll have another one some day though. It'll be either black or the grey on grey like yours.

 

thanks guys-for anyone that wants to know how to do it-it's very simple-just clean the rims really good, get rim paint-I use plasti-kote-works great, next spray on 2 coats(let it dry for an hour for each coat) then get some clear coat-I used Krylon, and put 3 coats(15 min for each coat) when all done let it dry for an hour and your done-comes out really shinny too!

 

The light grey GTA rims look awesome. I would have done the same with mine except that I got my black ones brand new, but the moment the black starts to deterate - I will change it to body color or light grey.



That sky blue TA in my sig was a drawing a did a long time ago back in August. I wanted to see what a 4th gen style front would look like on a thirdgen. I liked it. If they made that front end, I would probably buy it.

the stripes are tight

 

...looks really great with this stripes ....but.....what have you done to those very rare taillamps?
...one of mine was cracked short time ago....and it was really hard to find a replacement part...

 

although the 91-92 tails are rare, i think that your car is tight......

 

thanks 4 the responces-I know that they r rare tail-lights-I guess if I really wanted to, I could just get some abbrasive (spelling!?) to take off the paint-but 4 now it looks fine to me!

Honestly-the reason that I did all that to my car is that I wanted it to stick out from all the other 3rd gens-and I think I'm doing a good job so far from the responces I get in my area from 3rd gen owners!

 

Can you email me some bigger pics of the car. I have been wanting to go stripes on my car but have never seen one with it. Everyone said it would look bad al the way done on the bummper cover because of the tear drops. I love it! I want to prove them wrong!!
