Steps on how to sand taillights

ok i did a search but no one states how to make your tail lights look like glass,

what i mean is what do you do, how long to sand with each grit, what grit to use, wet or dry, and any other stuff like that, i just picked up some Ruby Red Metallic hobby shop paint for plastics and i want to polish my lights then maybe paint then and then throw on a clear coat.

eastwood plastic polish and a buffing wheel. thats what I used worked awesome.
