Scratch on plastic...how to fix??????

When i was finishing my rims the other day i noticed that i have a scratch on my brand new plastic shift plate that sits on top on the center console.......i dont know how it got there....something must have feel sometime and nicked it...ugh...man that stinks. Anyways....i have my plastic compound from eastwood on order.....would that help at all to hide it?....what does anyone suggest i do to ry and hide it or fix it up as best as possible? Its only like a half inch long but its on a curve....so if you look at it it sticks right out.

If it's on a textured piece you're pretty much screwed.

If it's smooth, then you'll have better luck sanding it out with some light sandpaper, then following up with the plastic polish.

I just polished out my safety glasses last night with the eastwood plastic polish. They were getting a little hazy. The stuff works great!

yeah....its not on the small squares..the grainy part...its on the smooth. So i can sand it down with some light sand paper and then use the compound?? What grit do i use?....1500?

Start at whatever it takes to get the scratch out. The rest of it is getting rid of the sanding scuffs.

You'll probably end up buffing the whole thing anyway.. lol
