wells so far i got my rims done. I got my center console with all the parts put together. I got my holes drilled out of the shifter plate for my window switches, got my new shifter **** as well. I have my plenum extension coming in from corvette central..so i got to polish that. I still got to get alot more stuffthough. New t-top headliner, Embroidered floor mats, sunvisors, dash pad, hood insulation, valve covers, gaskets, water pump, spark plug wires, t-stat housing, and the list goes on and on. Ill post my progress as i dig into the car so stay tuned. Hopefully though it will come out looking really nice...i hope.

i have shorties (hooker 2055). they told me 180 for the headers and $15 a foot for the Y- pipe. so its going to cost me around $300.

Crawlin 25th: There's a place in Oak Lawn/Chicago Ridge on 111th street called Lo-Ko coatings that does excellent work and guarantees their work (even if you screw up). My friend leaned out his engine and discolored one of his headers (not to mention burning a piston). LoKo recoated it for free. I know several people who have used them repeatedly with good results.

I have been fixing various problems on my car. I also had had to clean it out a bit too. It's still running rough right now - I could be that I have not drivin it more than 8 feet in 2 weeks.

Here I'm making sure all of my emmissions wires and hoses are connected properly. I don't have to worry about emissions testing, but I still like knowing that my car could pass the test if I ever had to take it. It has been running great in the past 6 months. I don't have any plans for now except to put my MSD plugs back on, but I still need to get the proper boots since I got the plugs from a Ford 351W.

Here's a shot of my project, Its coming along pretty well. So far this winter I have installed headers/cat/catback, installed 4th gen seats, fixed the console, and did a major tune up. Today I installed new radiator hoses and put a 180 degree thermostat in. I also sanded and painted the underside of the floor pans due to some surface rust. It has a date with the paint gun on Feb 17, and I have a new set of 17's waiting for it to come back.

DiecastZ28,

whats up with your tranny? Are you rebuilding it? I may have to rebuild my tranny sometime I was wondering if it was hard or not. I think I have a syncronizer going bad on me.

i'm still debating exactly what my MAIN winter project is gonna be, i wanna paint it, i want to put in forged pistons and h beam rods, and i wanna throw a 284 or 292 cam and either a victor jr or rpm air gap or convert to fuel injection and an lt1 intake, and nitrous...but thats just a money issue and if i get the parts car i'm lookin at, i'll be swapping transmissions (again) and my rear end...i need to get my **** together....i'll post a pic of my car as it sits later tonight...

Well I haven't got any pics yet. Since my exterior is in pretty good shape I am working on my interior. IT's not horrible but it's not great either. I am changing from a grey interior to a black one. New carpet and all that this sort of thing entails. I have to replace my steering box and I am putting the car into the shop to take care of my rocker arm tapping and my idle problem. I have tried doing all this myself but I haven't had much luck with it. So hopefully I will be able to drive it rebliably soon. Fortunatley this is not my daily driver.

Took it apart. It was not that bad. The toughest part was unsoldering the three coil leads, even that was not tough. Basically take off alt fan nut washer spacer, pulley , fan and second spacer(best to loosten nut while belt still on. Then after out of car remove three bolts that hold alt together. Pull front of alt off bearing should stay in front it will be held there by retainer clip.

To dissassemble back half there is a trick. Place a small diameter rod about 3" or longer thru small hole nearest center bearing. (I placed arrow pointing to its location) This will keep the brushes in place and keep them from poping out. Then pull out armature. There is a plastic coverpiece covering electronics. To remove push our little plastic rods that hold clips in place. (save rods you will need to re install them). remove three screws that hold electronics to back half.
Push out plastic rods for small plastic cover on outside of housing that covers coil wires. remove plastic outside covering. Desolder three coil wires, If you can get someone to give you a hand while doing this it would be easier, one person can put tension on coil assembly while the other is heating up the solder joints and it will just pull apart. At this point everything can be removed from case. Sand and polish away and reassemble in reverse order.

IROCThe5.7L I love the banner at the bottom of your sig... If i need to know the temp outside I just look at it...Cool!
