Im thinking about painting the top of my GTA
Ok, from what I have been reading ALOT of thirdgens paint fades hardcore. Mine was great then the hood went to crap. My parents got it(the hood) painted for me last year for my bday and about a month later the top of the car went to crap. There are a couple of other minor places but nothing that I am that worried about. I will have the car painted but I dont know when.
So...
I am thinking about getting a gravity fed paint gun and painting the top with a buddy of mine that has painted before(not clear coat though). My GTA is black. I want to know about how much it should cost for the paint and clear coat for the top(maybe the other minor spots). Is it worth the time and money to do this or should I just wait and get the whole car done?
Thanks,
Brian

I would just wait and paint the whole car, if your going to be doing little spots, you'll probably end up doing half the car anyways, if you want it to look good that is. Especially with black. There is probably alot more work to this than you think. You can't really 'spot paint' you have to blend out the paint, sometimes into more than one panel. Just some thoughts, its up to you though.

The way i see it there's two options
1) If you have kids, sell them. They take up too much time and money, and you could get good cash for them
2)Tell the wife to start pulling her own weight, or get out.
j/k...id say try to do the patch job yourself, and do it once u get the hood and spoiler, that way it'll all match, and wont have different levels of fade from the sun.

Well i'm not sure what to tell you. you could always try, but your going to end up spending a couple hundred on paint and supplies, plus if not done right it might not come out looking much better than it does right now. I know what you mean though about wanting it to look nice, mine is 3 different colors right now, actually 4
Sometimes you just gotta wait though. Its your time and money, so your call.
