What you all think?

Right now I'm replacing all the locks in the car. I tried getting the door panels off today... the manual says lift the top plastic up and out and it should release. It dont. Is there some secret to this? I'm tempted to go to the junk yard and buy some more so I can rip these ones out. I dont have patients for stubborn stuff.

Sorry, I didnt know about the ****ty 16mb limit per day. Means only like 60 people got to see my car, damnit

Im looking for another host to get the pics up on now, anyone got suggestions??

MdFormula350:
I know... now I really wish I had the headders coated nice and shiny too. I didnt ask or expect to get chrome valve covers.

92Transam:
I wish I knew!!! For all the $$$ I got in the car it still looks like crap and doesnt run as nice as I want it too. $9800 was the last hunk of money put into it and that was mostly for a new engine and tranny plus piles of little things. And the engine aint even that good.
I do know if I did more of that stuff myself I could have saved at least $3000 from labor... but then I dont have any kind of warranty to give myself for when something I build blows up in my face. As it stands now I am guarenteed for as long as I dont do anything stupid to the car.

The Door panels.

First pop out all the plastic plugs around the sides and bottom. Than with the black top peice (which is connected to the panel).
It's a real pain, you have to do a push down and pull out at the same time. There are 3 spots on the black rail: left, right, and middle you have to do this on. I had to do this when I replace my crappy vynial door panles with the delux intrior panels.

Yea I got them out, Hayes manual forgot the part that should say 'rolling the window down makes removing the panel a WHOLE lot easier'. I found that in my GM manual after I remembered where I last left the book. Bad news is 4 of the plug thingys are broke.

Sometime in the cars lifetime power windows were added. I guess at the same time some idiot owned the car as well. Ive found about 6 bare spots in the wire used, which explains why occasionally they wouldnt work. And in the passenger door I found the wire melted to the door.

If I was going to make my own arm rest.. what material would I use? The stock one just isnt at the right height for me to be comfy with.

I got some cardboard sitting around, I'm gonna go have a crack at making my own door panels. Been wondering what it would look like with some speakers in it

Uhh...What exactly did you spend $10,000 on? I don't even see the $4,000 you speak of unless you are including the cost of the car itself?

Well, that snorkle/aircleaner you have on there will choke a stock 305. I'd recommend getting an open element, or a L69 cleaner.

There are lots of low-buck things you can do (like the ultimate TBI), to help with the lack of power.

If it were me, I'd start looking for a 650 Holley, and a proper intake manifold.

Sorry,I didnt make much sense I guess. Simply put the entire drivetrain in new, its all been out and rebuilt/replaced as needed. Thats where most of the $$ went. Like the engine itself was about $2600, trans was $1900, driveshaft & rear end was another $1500, things like that. And what really sucks is while it makes the car much better to drive (not including torque converter problem), the car looks like crap form the outside still.

NTChrist:
Your probably right bout that air cleaner, I want it replaced just because after cleaning it up and painting it the thing still looks like crap especially compared to someones L69 intake I saw on this board that they had chromed.

Quick question, what paint would I need to paint the metal on the t-tops black again? I didnt think normal interior paint would hold up on the exterior, or am I wrong?
