Geez, some haters up in here.

Congrats on taking on a thirdgen as a project car! I'm doing the same thing with a company a friend and I started (WHICH MAKES NO CLAIMS ABOUT WHAT WE DO OR BEING A SHOP OR WHATEVER ) My '91 Firebird is a project car for MotorSportConnect.com .

By the way, I liked your guys' snow video with the WRX and the Altima and Z it was posted on here a while back. I wish you guys were closer than Baltimore so that we could collaborate. [ Shameless plug ] Our newest video contains two thirdgens [ /Shameless plug ]

So is it derfrank's car or 91Z28's car that you are using as the project car? How's it going with 91Z28's car? Is it back from down south yet with the new motor? Now i'm curious! lol So, is the motor built or are you just putting on a s/c? With the heads listed above i would imagine the thing is built to hold some boost! Let us know. Later

The Suspension install went good, boy does this trak pak sit low, on my way home from the welding shop i hit a little dip in the road and it scraped the the crossbar. The car feels really stiff but can't test traction because the ground is a little too wet here. I now have a backfire in the exhaust and i'm trying to figure out why because it didnt' have one coming in. Well i'll keep you guys updated on how the rest of it goes.

Another question too, any problems using a Viper T56? The article confused me a little! Is it just a GM T56 or is it one from a Viper? I have seen this once in a magazine where a guy took a Viper T56 and used it in a thirdgen, but it said nothing about problems or certain modifications. When i get some real money together i would like to get one and i was just wondering which tranny you are using and if it is out of a Viper. The write up looks good, keep up the good work. Later

The tranny is not from a Viper, it from a 97 trans am. The T56 is also used in the vipers, thats what i meant. When you do the swap, get a 94-97 T56 from a either a camaro or firebird.

Oh alright, thanks for the clarification! There are some differences between the two, i just don't know what exactly would be involved in putting a t56 from a Viper into a thirdgen. Thats all. Later

you say tubular a-arms?

what ones? will they work with your stock k-member?

i would actually like to go the other way around and replace the k-member now and wait for the a-arms....just curious as to what your doing.

do a search on the internet......

many people are showing problems on normal street use with welds breaking; parts bending; all things that i'm not prepared or about to deal with. if you spend roughly 1000 new on a tubular k member and a arms they had better hold up as long or longer than the stock pieces.

but, it doesn't seem to be that way. even when i contact the business to ask they are against street driven cars?

i would love to have the tubular setup if i knew it could hold up....i'm not about to have some k member break and loose my engine or watch an arm snap and put me into a freeway divider.

unfortunately there aren't enough people that do stuff like this on the street to get real answers.

as far as D@ActiveTuning stating what he said.....enough already, he was just making the point the car will hold it's own. let's move on...

I have only the tubular a-arms, no tubular k-member. I didn't want to go through the hassel of pulling the motor again to just change a k-member. I have examined the tubular a-arms, and i do not see how they wouldn't hold up as good as the factory ones since they actually seem to be more beefy. I might have a welder near by me reweld the welds that they have to strengthen it more but other than that, it looks like a good piece. I'll let you guys know and pray that i don't end up in a ditch on the freeway or anything. Hey JucinGTA, that number from just out of d@activetuning's ***. Your car is pretty killer, i'd love to have a match with you at nationals if you're up for it, just the heck the it. What have you done to yours' JucinGTA??

An SS hood would make that Z look perfect, although I still like the stock hood.
