Detroit here....

i agree they totally over salt the roads here, but in all honesty they also undersalt it at the most in-appropriate times....this winter and last winter and even the winter before that the snow just kicked our asses.

I'm in canada, so winter is half of the ****ing year. I'm also only 17, so my Camaro is my only car. I drive it, and I deal with it. Lately though, it's been warming up, and the snow has been melting. My car is just dirty as hell. Can't wait until summer, when I can pop the tops off. High school girls are so easily impressed

Driving mine every day Don't have salt to worry about on the roads, just a bit of sand when it does snow.

Speaking of winter...

It made itself known again last night. we got about 5 inches dumped on us and its still coming down as of 7:20am here in Kutztown. Those bastards at my university didnt even close!!! Everyone is closed around here but Kutztown University. So now I have to drag my butt out in this for classes.
I wish I could afford a beater.. College student. I look at it this way... These cars are fair weather cars. But there are way more nice weather days, then bad weather days. Oh well.. back to the salty roads of PA for me.

Mine is holding up well. Right now it is holding up about 3" of snow and counting. Supposed to get 8" today here on Long Island.

Drivability wise, my car is holding up great considering the 104k mileage and the fact that I only drive it once a week now.

The body still looks kind of bad. Very little salt on it right now. Since I will only be hanging on to this car until I find a 92Z, I don't have to worry about how it looks too much, since it will be junked once I strip it for parts.

When I get the Z, it will only be driven in the winter if it is completely dry out and there is no wetness.

Ya but there can always be salt on the ground. And u know it just take a little salt to get underneath the car. Then when it gets wet, u have a recipe for rust.

Right now its a nice sunny day. But its decieving to the normal eye. I know alot people who would be like, hey take your car out man, its a good day.

Im like ya it is, but that dont matter. I dont care if its 70F and sunny! U see the road out there buddy, and do u see how white that is, do u know how much thats gonna **** up your car slowly? I dont think so!

Cant they figure out a better way of melting snow

Oh a little off topic, but i just added up the cost to get a tune-up on my car, and u know what? I can use that money to get a cat-back system, what decision to i make?

My husbands 95 Z is sitting in the Garage (not covered up hes been working on her. Totally Replace the sound system in her, put an Aluminum Driveshaft plus a Safety loop)

I drive the camaro daily at school here in syracuse. Goes alrgith withy studded tires and sand in the back. Today I slid on ice and slammed the tires into the curb. Lets hope that didnt screw anything up like it probably did.

Trans Am, got caught in falling snow once. And got stuck in my ice covered driveway once, and towed it up it with my father's truck. That was a scary experience. But it needed a test drive. Even with posi, it sucks in the snow.

Cmon spring where are u!!!! I cant wait man, its just around the corner now. One more full solid month, and then its time to think about taking out my baby!

One month from today will be March 14, so its pretty safe to say that some good days will start looming around that time.

Though Michigan is known for its unknown weather, so who knows how it will be here.

well my winter has not gone well. One day i was heading to school I feel the roads were terribly icey. So i go on goin about 20 mph. When i get to this hill going down it my back end starts to loose it i over correct it and end up doing a 360 on the road lucky i hit a 13 in snow bank and stopped my car on the opposite of the road facing it to go up it. I was also in 2nd gear. I get out to look it over I see no damaged then about a spilt second later a girl comes down the hill looses it about the same spot goes right into my front end and pushed my passenger fender into a brich tree. Then I find out later in the day I was 1 of 14 other students from school who also got in wrecks all in 20 mins, believe it or not. Then a old guy loose it in the same spot and wrecks him self in to the guard rail. I talked to my insurance company and they decide that they were not able to figure out whos fault it was, so they are only given me 80% and I was pissed off from that, now knowing that I have to pay 20%, i was furious. They screwed me over. I will end up getting it done by a shop and telling them not to paint the front end or fender, bc i will just do it myself with primer bc its getting a new paint job in the spring.

my 90 3.1 is my daily driver. this is a pretty bad winter for us here in pittsburgh. we usually just get one or two days of nonstop snow and thats it. this year it snows an inch every day or two. i try to drive it as little as possible and am forced to park it outside. i dont have a cover for it either. i noticed the other day that there was rust starting to form on my wheel wells but not in them in u know what i mean. when spring comes i want to get that rust taken care of and a new paint job. what is the best way to take care of the rust and is there such thing as anit-rust?

winter sucks, being poor and not be able to afford a beater sucks. only drove in the snow 1 time. took the car to work, it was 35, sunny, looked out the window 1/2 hour before i got off, 2 in of snow on the ground. but luckily, i only work 3/4 mile from my house, but it was still a fun expierience. had to take 4 turns to get home, tires spinning around each one, but i made it home in one piece. im really hating all the salt on the roads, but luckily i got rust protection underneath, and a heated garage to wash it, when necessary, even when not, i find it fun. yesterday, got out of school, its 45 and sunny, was gonna take the tops off, but i didnt have the bag with, and the back seat had people in it. it was just as nice today, so i went topless, it felt good. supposed to be the same tomorrow
