Z06 wheels

I plan on putting some Z06 wheels on my car, except id like to strip em and pain them black. what do you guys think itll look like. and do you think that the spacer for 10.5s in the back and 9.5s in the front will hold up to a charged lt4 with a t56? thanks:hail:

I think that it would look good. Powdercoating the rims black may be the way to go. It would probably be safer to just get a 4th gen rear end with the hp you plan on pushing

Powder coating is the only way to go IMO. I am using all 17s though and keeping them the stock color. The spacers should be good for some low 12 sec passes according to some members. Good luck

WOW! I have always wanted to know what some Z06 rims would look like on a third gen. I plan on throwing the black corvette GS rism on my TA.

if you can afford the whole setup just to paint or powder coat them black then i say go for it!

i assume your going to go with the 17/18 combo? the 18 all around will run you roughly 2200 with adapters and tires with the painted finish. i for one do not like the black wheel look but i know alot do so if it's your thing then you should definately do it.

as far as the power.........lt4 doesn't mean a whole lot. how much power exactly are you looking for or expecting? while i wouldn't use those wheels at the 1/4 strip running them on a autox or street will be no problem. remeber that you'll want adapters and not spacers to do it properly and i'm sure you'll break an axle before you ever break an adapter from skulte.

2" or even 2.25" Those are the popular sizes. Email Andris. He is a busy guy but will eventually get back to you and help out! Good luck

it depends greatly on the offset and backspacing of the wheels as well as what size. having an 18" in the front will get you more room to work with. it also depends on the tire size you go with as well as what struts you have, etc.

there are alot of factors, andris does know his stuff to a point but he can only help you so much. i had to do alot of the work myself. i needed a 2-3/4 front and 2" rear adapters....could have used 2.25" in the front but the type of struts and spring combination i could use a litle more so i went larger.

i plan to fit since that is the size he says i need based on offset and then i will mill them to the exact specs later....

understand that he leaves variances as well. for instance some who are running 18x9.5 2000 rims are using 2" adapters with a +54 mm offset. i'm using 18x10.5 with a +58 offset with the same apdapters so you see that if those who are running the smaller rim with less offset would have measure properly their wheel would go in even further. at least in most applications anyway.

also, the tire size and profile you pick is greatly going to make a differnce. i have to use a 35 series profile to make sure the sidewall is straight, that way i can fit a 275 in the front with no rubbing lock-lock. same with the rear....295/35 and i still have 1/2" of clearance before i hit the inner wheel well.

it's alot of money for this stuff though so be sure you know exactly what your getting into. with everything tires, tripple plating the wheels, and custom cut adapters i'm looking at just under 3,000 and that was saving alot of money through sponsorship, dealer discounts, and knowing people.

good luck with it, it isn't easy but it can be done. just think it all through and double check your measurements. otherwise you may have wheels that stick out a bit more than you want.
