im painting my car in a few weeks. im going to stay somewhere close to the factory maroon color. mainly cause i dont want to paint the door jams/front fenderwells. i was thinking maybe it would look good if i mixed in some pearl with the maroon. kind of like a candied paint. how much more would this cost? and does anyone know about how much pearl to mix in? and if anyone has any picks of maroon pearl cars or trucks please post them. thank you in advance.

you add pearl to the clear coat....it will make the paint seem to glow....

i think a gold pearl would be awesome over a maroon car

my painter said he would use about 6 ounces of pearl on my car....at around $45. not bad of a price for the awesome effect it gives. You can get cheaper, and a lot more expensive pearls

BTW....pearl paint jobs dont show up on pictures very well at all, my suggestion is go to the paint shop, and they should be able to paint a panel for you with the pearl so you can see what it will look like

 

so the pearl goes in the clear coat? we are the paint shop so the idea of having them paint a panel is kinda out lol.
