Paint is in great shape after I buffed it all out. No rust at all.

heres mine - 83 z28
the main exterior difference is the ground effects i believe, and the hood. 85 and newer ground effects are taller and more rounded than 82-4, and the front spoiler has slots on the 82-84.
the 82-84 z28 hoods had different shaped louvers or whatever (i like them better than later ones) and some had composite hoods and functional air induction hoods (like mine)
i have a bunch of 82-84 camaro literature (and some firebird) if you want me to scan some or take pictures, pm me
if you want

oooh a targa roof. That would be cool. How are you going to fab the roof panel?
These pics were on here once before.....
FIRECHICK...thanks for the compliments on my car's engine bay. I have to replace the battery tray and some sheet metal under the heater fan. Rusty.

We are still figuring out the logistics. I want to convert it to the 85 and up style t-top latches (rod style) and use the ends off some nasty tops. (a friend has some badly damaged ones) Bust out the bad glass and get a full lexan piece for the top. Must be able to see thru is or what is the piont right?! Storage will then be the interesting part. As far as the inside...I'm leaning towards getting one of the fiberglass t-top headliners like I have in my car. Cutting it and modding it to not have a center and then smooth it and paint it body color. I'm not sure what to do about the visors yet. I guess I could make them out of fiberglass too. It will be different thats for sure. Then I have to figure out a dome light. I will probably just go with the newer style maplights built into the rear view mirror.

Zepher, your Bird is absolutly gorgous!!!!! Your Bird looks like it is giving an evil smirk in your sig. Very cool. Bill, my battery tray in both my Birds need replacing. Come to think of it so does my Formie. They keep me busy.
Redraif, love the targa top idea!! Keep us posted on his rise from the ashes!
