clean up what's there and pick a "theme" that ties everything together. Bring the attention to the good stuff and people won't be so quick to notice the rest.

What "sticks out" to me is the half painted a/c condenser, the straps holding your radiator in, and the braided hose covers.

If I were start where you're at, I'd clean the condenser, or remove it completely since you don't have air anyway. I'd buy a stock radiator cover, clean it up, paint it and install it. Then I'd get rid of the braided hose covers. I've never been partial to that stuff anyway, but especially when you don't have anything else on the car that matches it. I also would try to get some more uniformity with your accessories. Either paint all of your pullies red, or don't make any of them red.

Basically what I'm saying is that in order to make the engine bay look better, everything needs to be tied in together better. It's like you've got 10 different themes all happening at once, so there's really nowhere for the eye to focus on. Once everything sort of matches, a less-than-perfect engine bay doesn't seem quite so noticable.

Remove anything that you don't want.

I didn't want the carb, so I got rid of that as well,

I went a little too far this time. I didn't want the 305, so I took that out as well,
