Which hood?
Alright, can't make up my mind so it is up to you good people. With the lt1 project about to kick off I have been tossing around the idea of a new hood, question is which one, ram air or cowl induction????

You have the powerbulge hood on it now right?? If so leave it on...IMHO it is the best looking hood on a Firebird/Formula/Trans am...any bird for that matter. I usually hate '82s....or any bird without the gfx...but your car is sweet dude. My '83 had gfx from an '88 GTA on it. For the first time I would say to keep it exactly how it is now. If anything put on some Trans am tail lights from an '85-'90. I would usually suggest that you put on the '85-'90 style gfx, front bumper cover and rear bumper cover as well...but your car is perfect the way it is. I am going to go cry now since I miss my fbody so much...lol.

Thanks, you think the way I do, I have already replaced the tailights with the gta lights and i agree with you on not having ground fx...
The hood is not the powerbulge type.. as an old carbed car it came with the flat hood.. the more I read the posts the more I think I will leave the exterior alone and just tint the side windows (long overdue).
I can't wait to transplant the lt1, though to do it exactly the way I want is costing a mint..

J's T/A that car will be so awesome w/ just the windows tinted and an LT1. Talk about a sleeper. I don't usually get into the earlier thirdgen birds but I love yours it is so clean. I hope you are going to document the whole swap. :hail:

in my opinion if I were you and since your going with the LT1 Id go with a ram air style and get the airbox for it. it would make it have a little more power at speed because of the ram effect and it would sound sweet sucking air through the hood

He already bought the SLP dual on the drivers side cold air intake setup, but I still think that a 96-97 style Ram Air hood would look awesome, even if it isn't functional.

so maybe he should sell it and go for the functional one for the hood
I ust think it would be so sweet to hear that air rushing in from the front of the car like that because I know the new WS6 cars are awesome sounding.
