Need advice on paintjob!
Need advice on paintjob!
The paint on my 88 GTA is in okay shape. It's white. You wouldn't notice just looking at it, but some of the clearcoat is coming off, and the hood was damaged and had to be relaced after a hailstorm and the color is brighter on the hood. Anyways, I was wanting to gt it repainted white. A really brilliant white. What do you guys think about Maaco? Do they do a good job generally? About how much would I expect to pay for a good quality one color paint job? I wouldn't need to get the door jambs repainted or anything. I'm doing it the same color. Also, what do you think about a thin gold pinstripe or two on the sides? I'd like a paint job that looks like it came from the factory almost. Clear coat also. How much could I expect to pay? Thanks! Matt
actually most maaco's do a decent spray job, but to hell with letting them do the body work..might as well give some play-dough and a putty knife to a 5 year old.
do the body work yourself. it will save you a ton of $$.

Theres lot of stuff on Maaco here. Basically, all of them are independantly owned. So one shop may produce better results than another shop. If you want to get a Maaco job, do the prep yourself and don't get their cheapo $200 package. Research the Maaco location you would use. Check out previously painted cars and see how they're holding up. If its a daily driver, you don't need a $10K paintjob. I would just prep it myself and get Maaco's best package. Good luck to ya
