Does this look good or bad?

What do you guys think of the thing on top of my windshield where it says GTA? It was on the car when I bought it. Should I keep it or scrape it? Opinions appreciated! Matt

I'd keep it. I wanna put one on mine that says "Pontiac" but haven't been able to find one for the outside. All I see is for the inside which wouldn't work cuz of the rearview mirror.

I would go with the darkest tint you can legally have in your state. If you go too dark you wont be able to see good at night and cops will be *******s to you too.

You can make your own banner! Try going to a construction company and ask if they have any reflective tape or whatever they put on roadsigns. Get the tape and some sticky paper (to apply the tape) They usally have rolls of it and if your nice they'll give it to ya. Pick the color you want(I've seen blue, red, orange, white) Decide what you want it to say probly GTA for you. And measure and draw your own letters, trace them on the tape and cut it out with an exacto-knife. Pull the letters off and put the non-sticky side on the sticky paper. Place it on your windshield, press on it and pull the sticky paper off. You can make the letters look like whatever you want. The best part is at night the tape reflects and it looks sweet. Another good thing is it's free(hopefully, they may charge a couple dollors for the tape. sorry for the long reply.

I say scrap it. One of the nicest things about a GTA is the sleeper factor. Most people think they're camaros or base firebirds. Little do they know it's an optioned out Trans Am hiding a L98 under the hood. Let the guess what you have, and judge you only by the look of your tail-lights. That should suffice, for the GTA is the king of class.:hail:

I've got the inside Pontiac one on my car, just need to cut a small hole for the mirror mount.

I thought the hole would be more noticeable than that but it don't look too bad. I may go ahead and see if it works on mine this weekend.

Easiest way to do it is take off the mirror, mount the banner and then use a razor blade to cut around the mirror mounting plate.

My personal opinion, scrap it. That's a beautiful car. I think that the banner takes away from the car a bit.

i think that the font is just too bland...it looks like block letters or something that is used in a presentation...the ones you stick to someting like a presentation board

I say scrape it and put a completely different sticker that spells out Grand Tourismo Americano (or Grand Touring America if you want it in English).

lol... just like my car (in progress with bodywork and have paint dust everywhere).... people like to write "deez nuts", "blow me" and the like in there. I wrote "5.0 Liter R<x>ice Eater." Of course, my g/f writes much nicer notes in there ("I love David", "David is a hottie", etc.) hehe

I think it looks good. It's clean, one solid color, just the right size, and it matches the paint scheme with the car. Now...if it was bright yellow or red.....or something...I would say, take it off....but....I'm likin how it looks on your car. It's there, and to the point.....it's a ++ IMO..

hey zepher, I know the car has not been on the road for a while, but when it was, have you ever had any problems with that banner? I heard cops bust down hard in VA beach with cars with banners on them, I heard it's a good $100 fine.

Well, I think that three letters is too short to put on the windsheild. But I do like the lettering of Zephers car.

I'm not typically a big fan of banners, but I don't hate them either.

Subtle ones like that are okay.

the factory pontiac one that goes on the outside will have the wiper hitting the c. momar has this problem with his, and is starting to wear away, but this is after 18 years, so obviously, you need to have good wiper blades as not to scratch them.

good luck

I like the sleeper look. If you check out my website you will see a stock looking IROC. When the light turns green you know it is not.

Any pics of that banner? I searched for that name in the readers' rides but didn't see it. I wanna see if it looks any different than the one on Zepher's car.

You could make the letters real wide to go across the whole wondshield, i think that would look cool.

my suggestion is make a new one, using this font.

can't get much more factory looking than this.
