Custom made CAI....pics...careful 56k users...
Well after about 2 hours worth of fabricating and molding things together i finally got my CAI built and put in. Took a little bit of work getting everything to fit...but its in now and not coming out..
I ran my duct along the inside fender wall to my air can assembly which is packed with a K&N filter. Sucks in alot of air now...especially when you open the butterflys up. Heres a few shots.

thats really cool man, i was thinking of doing something like that on my bird, but much wider, it would run the length of the front bumper and have dual inlet tubes that got to a carb bonnet. but can you get some more pictures of it further away and such.
again it looks great.

josh....heres a couple shots. Btw...seeing that yours is the same setup as mine.....do you know anywhere that i can get a different air can? Even if its just the lid....id really like to polish it up. As you can see from mind the moron that owned my car last decided to drill holes through it. Check out my so called "painted fender"...nice huh?,....thats what i get for trusting an auto body guy.....doesnt even take the parts off to paint them.

josh:....i know this is off the topic....but is there any way you could make me a something like what you got on your sub grills?....some sort of stencil? Id pay ya if that helps..lol.
i had something like that on my 88 formula 350 and let me tell you i was cleaning my k&n filter every month!!
so i took it off and ran the stock air setup..
i rather have a slp cold air that pulls the air up high from the fender area..
looks good though.

but it just said give me your address and i will send you the stencil. i have one that you can have...it's just a piece of paper and it took me 5 minutes to make so you dont have to pay me. but PM me your address. The lid for your airbox coes with the bottom piece and you can get it new from GM, the part number is 25098232, and lists for, um, wow, over $200 new! So i don't think i would get a new one. The best thing you can do it take it off and bead/sand blast it and then repaint it or powdercoat it. Or go to your local boneyard and find a new lid w/o holes in it.
