My Bird needs a vanity plate....

Hopefully this constitutes an "appearance" question (I feel it does), but does anyone have any good suggestions for a vanity plate on my '92 Firebird? I've been trying to come up with a good one, but can't think of one I could justify spending the cash on. The big obstacle is the fact that Mass makes limits you to 6 characters, the first 2 MUST be letters. So "FIREBIRD" or even "92 BIRD" aren't happening. The best I can come up with is FYRBRD, but I keep going back and forth as to whether or not it would look cool abbreviated that much. My other possibilities include "BIRD 92", "PNTIAC", and "FLYNLO". *** 6 characters sucks....

I heard MA is making you run a front and rear plate now too? When I lived there it was only the rear. I'm moving back this summer, and would kinda like to know some of these car-law changes they're doing up there now. Any advice or warnings, Yellow Camaro?

yup dakota you need front plate on all vehicles and they do enforce it quite a bit , just as they enforce tint laws (35% is legal) and yellow camaro will soon find that out when they make him rip his 20% tint off.

MA sucks , end of story.

and to offer one helpful suggestion , before thinking of names check out the MA RMV they have a list of vanity plates that are already in use , that way you don't have to wait a month to get your idea rejected

Thanks for the heads up man. How are emissions? I heard they're getting stricter too, even though they used to be a joke. Not to worried about the truck passing, little bit concerned about the Iroc. Oh, and is the tint 35 on side and rear?

side & rear as far as I know

emissions are the worst thing about MA , now they test emission every two years and safety every year, I think it's $35 now but I don't live in MA anymore

they also warned all the stations doing it that if any of them get caught for fraud and letting cars pass then the mechanic , owner of the place and the person whose car is getting inspected are going to be fined and they aren't small fines either. So you can imagine how hard it is to find a place that will just slap a sticker on for you.

I know of a place that does it for $150 so instead of doing that I moved to NH

it's only getting worse there too , I think they want to pass the law that will outlaw the use of any aftermarket exhaust. And there were talks about having mobile emission stations as well where they would set one up on a highway , pull people over left and right and if you failed they would impound your car. that hasn't been passed yet and hopefully won't be but just like CA , MA sucks ***.

not to mention they do dyno testing, they actually put your car on a "wannabe dyno" (just rollers) and then go through the full operating cycle , speed up , slow down etc... you get the idea.

The times when you could lean out your carb and pass easily are looong gone. lol

Yeah, Virgina (DC suburbs anyway) do that whole roller thing too. It sucks ***. My cars got the 350 TPI, and I really wanted to dump the cat, smog pump, air fittings, you know clean up the engine a little a get a few extra ponies, but not a chance in hell now I guess. Only hope is if the MA lawmakers are as crooked as they used to be then I'm sure they left some loopholes .

By the way, Yellow Camaro, if the bird is yellow too, my vote is for CANARY all the way! Haha I think that's the best one I've heard in a long time.

Yeah I've read that a dozen times....it pretty much assumes you have 8 characters and an IROC, not 6 and a Firebird which is why I asked for more specific ideas.
HOOPTY , WHTRSH , 80SRULE
Why don't you tell me who you are instead of hiding behind some new screenname? Oh, and 80SRULE wouldn't fit....and it's a 92

That would be the perfect one for a yellow bird but mine is teal

I'm ***** , lol , I'm not hiding , just got banned for helping out a fellow thirdgen.org'er , LOL (I thought the mod ***** would appreciate the heinrich himmler username but I guess that's over their heads )

it may be a '92 but it's a 3rdgen therefore it's thought of as an 80's car and by the time you're done with it there won't be any question as to what decade it belongs to.

may I suggest 80SRUL then ?

honestly I wouldn't mind if you got a vanity plate for your yellow car that says HOUZE, then for the purple one - OF - , and then for the new teal one BLINGZ

that sucks man, cause it would've fit so perfect! What about CHIKEN, doubles for mocking the mustangs that want to race you and the screaming chicken logo that used to be across the hood of the old birds?
