Anyone do flames on the computer?

Well, I model 3d cars on my computer for fun, and am working on a car paint scheme for a friend of mine, but I'm not a very good "flame artist", does anyone here work in Adobe Illustrator and have any vector flame files I could use?

If you do, I can put them on a 3rd gen camaro for you in return if you would like, and have any color scheme you want. Here is what I'm working on so far for a friend:

This is all in 3D, so the angle can be rotated to any view, this view is just temporary, and will change for the final rendering, but I used the side view to show the flames (yea, I'm not good at flames).

It will look like this when I'm finished, only with flames:

(yes, the car is fake, it was added to the picture from 3D)

Anybody do any vector flames I could use?

Greatly appreciated!

What program are you using for rendering the frames? Looks very similar to Bryce.

How has Adobe Illustrator been working for you? I've been looking for a good program that I can use to work with vector files, I have AutoCAD right now; and I've heard many good things about Illustrator. If you can work with the car in 3-D thats pretty cool. I've been working on some flame ideas for my firebird. Although I have'nt come across any vector flames, if I do I'll be sure to let you know.

The car is made and rendered in 3D Studio Max 5.1, the background picture is just a picture.

I'm not to good with Illustrator, but I know the basics. I learned it in one of my classes, but haven't really used it much hehe!

well, if nobody has any vector flames, how about regular bitmap flames?

That white 3d camaro looks pretty nice except it looks inaccurate around the T-Tops and the rear looks unusually fat.

awesome job. I tried getting into 3d car modeling a while back....but using some freebie program from the net. Needless to say, i gave up.

Isn't there a way you can export these to a format say, Midtown Madness could use? Or maybe one of the Need for Speed games? Or maybe GTA3? Just throwing out bones because I want to drive a GTA in any of these games

yes, I probably could export it, but the mesh is very dense, and would probably bog down the game

Will you be selling/distributing the mesh once it's done? I'd love to play around with that!
