Why are used 91-92 front bumpers so expensive?
I had an idea to change my front bumper to the newer 91-92 style. Why are these bumpers used so expensive. They are literally 4 times more expensive than any other year.
My local junkyard barely has any thirdgens, the ones that are there are stripped to the chasis. Where I can get my hands on a 91-92 style Trans Am front bumper and absorber bar?
Do I need a new impact bar too from that year?

Pull out the phone book there are several in southern Ill I should know I grew up there you might try Shelby`s in West Frankfort or Millers in Mulkeytown but I know they are all over the place you just have to keep your eyes peeled
P.S. I`ll pm you the next time I come back for a visit if you would like and maybe I can help you find some of the places if you are having to much trouble.

i think its just because of the numbers, look at how many were made.... very few compared to the earlier styles. Theres not as big a demand for those as replacement parts and there are far fewer used ones to be had, so they can jack the price and call it a rarer part. Thats part of the reason my car got tottaled... cuz the parts being replaced were almost worth as much as the car itself. And yes, you do have to replace the "impact bumper", i believe its called... the upper support piece that bolts to the top of the nose and then to the fenders. Thats a $200 and some part itself. Damn Deer...
