restore my IROC wheels

i see lots of threads about polishing the iroc wheels to be all super shiny etc. but i want them to look exactly as they do now, just restored. anyone done this? i guess the biggest question i have is when i strip the clearcoat off, it will invariably remove the paint in the grooves of my wheels (i have an 89 IROC, it has the 2 grooved wheels not the single groove). what color is that paint? and any general tips on how to make my stock IROC wheels look brand new?
thanks!!

Well when I polished my rims, stripping the clear coat off made them look MUCH MUCH better. You could just strip the clear and then repaint if it takes the paint off. I'm either painting mine black or graphite. Hope that helps
