im having my front painted, i got a question?

or or 3 or 4, how long does it take to completely dry? and how long after the paint goes on can i wash and wax? also, how long after the paint has been put on can i drive it?

these questions may be simple but i dont wanna mess up the new paint

for it to dry so you can touch it, id wait about 8hours. wash and wax...i was told 2 weeks with my new paint..and to drive, id wait about a day or so

If you absolutely HAVE to drive it in any sort of heavy traffic there is a trick to protecting a freshly painted car.

I've seen it done, and my body shop suggested it to me when I brought mine home. Bring saran wrap, and wrap the front bumper for the ride home.

called the dealer where it is being painted, he siad you can drive it/wash it right away, cant wax for three weeks, car should be done painting this thurs, then im going to domincan, so i it will sit for over a week, then i will drive it, so no worres tehre

Paint shops are usual good about telling you that information.

When I had my car painted, the shop kept my car till it was dry enough to take home...bout one day. I waited over month till I washed it...just cuz it stayed clean most the time.

I was told you should wait between 30-40 days before a good coat of wax could be applied.....but..everyone has different opinions....
