Pics of my dual exhaust with side pipes

I used 3" stainles steel pipe with mandrel bends and Flowpath mufflers.. I've had it this way for about 6 years now, but took it off to revise it a little this past weekend.. Let me know what you think of the pics..

Just after I modified it

Test fit

Drivers side on.

Pass side on.

Another of the pass side.

Cheers,

Looks good. I'm not much of a fan for the shape of the exhaust exit.

Dan88IrocZ - That's cool.. My tips used to come out perpendicular to the body, but I didn't really like it that much..

nolanr0413 - Not right yet, I'll try and get some tonight.

transam305 - Seems like you're the only one..

Mark A Shields - About 4 inches at the lowest point.

Thanks for the input guys.

My dad had side pipes on his 71 bird and he said they scratched on hard turns. Do you have this problem?

89rsIMPRTETR - Thanks, I've drug it on some stuff, but it's real tough so I don't worry too much.. It does sound pretty good at idle and low cruise around town, but on the highway it's dead silent.. I can attribute that to the turbo's tho, they made it a ton quieter..

TransAm12sec - Never have drug them going around corners, but due to my sacked springs, I've bottomed them out a few times..

MdFormula350 - Thanks

bubbakutz - 200 for the mufflers and 80 for all the pipe I needed. (Canadian) I don't have any other pics of the under side unfortunatly..

Cheers,

jocww - I'll just answer your question here just in case someone else is curious as well...

I used
- 6 x 3" - 90* mandrel bends
- 8' of 3" straight pipe
- 2 x 3" collector flanges
- 2 x Mac Flowpath mufflers with 3" center inlet and offset 3" outlet (could use flowmaster or any other brand)
- There is only one hanger on either side and it attaches to behind the last bend before the exit and mounts to a peice of rubber.
- 0 x cats.. I don't have to have cats around here, so I didn't install them.

Cheers,

Do you have any pics of THE CAR with the pipes installed on it, instead of THE PIPES with the car installed around them?

I can't say it looks good without seeing THE CAR. All I can say is "HEY!!!!!!....... That looks like exhaust pipes."

Man that car is such a sleeper. If I pulled up to you, I'd be thinking I'm going to rip you a new one...then I'll hear a big whistle and eat some dust lol.

It looks like it would be a V6 show-car trailer queen. It's very very clean looking.

That looks really similar to my dual setup. It exits the same way yours does at an agle to the body. I'm running aerochambers with heatshields so the clearance is a little less than yours, but it's still not too bad, you only habe to be careful on speed bumps, railroad tracks and those big hills on country roads when you're going 65+ . I'll post some pics of it later on tonight when I get home from work. They're not very good as there is some rust on it and lots of gravel slurry buildup on it since I haven't washed it, but you can get an idea.

i so badly want dual side exhaust but do u think its possible to get it to come out of the side ground effects (91-92 RS GFX on a firebird) kinda like they come out of the gfx on stangs?

Excellent work, I've always wondered what a 3rd gen would look like with that exhaust.

Here's a pic of mine. Kind of rusty, need to be blasted and painted after all this wet weather, but you get the idea. This is the side view, it looks better w/ the gfx, but I haven't had a chance to put them back on yet.

It looked much better about 6 months ago when it was painted black, and the tips were painted aluminum. I used hi-temp paint, but apparently it didn't stick too well. I'll probably pull it off and paint it soon though, I'm kind of tired of looking at rusty pipes.

I'm switching to a longtube setup this summer and getting rid of the WHOLE exhuast (headers to tailpipes, brackets included), so if you might be intrested in this setup, let me know. It might be a while before I can remove it, but for the right price I can remove it shortly (less than a month). For the seller I will sandblast it and paint it so it's nice and pretty and you won't have to look at that rust. For more details, email me.

85TPI400 - not too bad, but the turbos defenatly made it a lot less radical sounding.

Dan88IrocZ - heh heh, I get that a lot..

bubbakutz - Only tip is to not listen to anyone and do whatever you think you can do..

kfoley - Cool setup, does look familiar doesn't it? lol

TJs57TPi - Nothing is impossible, but it would take a TON of work to get it setup like you want it to..

quicklil87lt - That's my fuel pressure gauge.. It has to be on the hood because I don't have a fuel isolation unit.. Can't race with fuel run inside the cabin of the car.

Cheers,
