on my 84 z28, there were some slot that were adhered to the nose with double sided tape.....
that's my guess on how the covers go on.

I think cracking them is your biggest problem, and putting holes in the nose, I wouldn't be too crazy about that, but I would imagine you should start out with a small pilot hole where you'll put the screws in. Just take your time and let the drill do the work, and make sure you use a sharp bit.
Hope it helps,

That's really up to you, I actually used the tape that was provided, but If I were to take that route, I'd make sure the lines of the cover match the lines of the body, then I would use the double sided tape on the brackets that hold each side, and I believe that there are two other L-shaped brackets for each cover that I put right underneath the top where it goes under the hood, that's where I'd screw them in. If you don't have those, I think Lowe's will have something similar for built small shelves. I'd screw the brackets into the nose, and then throught the cover. And with the screws up top, they'll be hidden by the hood so your covers keep their regular appearance. And I would stick with the smoke. VHT is a good product, but just like all spray paint, for some, it may be difficult to get an even coat, and it shows with the VHT.

not really, I never leave it anywhere that I or a whole bunch of people can't see it, and people here in Amarillo are going more towards Civics and whatnot, so I'm pretty safe. (knock on wood)

i wouldn't screw them in if i were you. if someone does decide to take them, they are going to grab them and pull. if they don't come off, they'll just pull harder. they obviously have no respect for your car since they're taking something off it, so they're not gonna give a rats *** if they scratch your paint or even rip the screws out leaving holes in your front end.

if you install them right, they won't fly off on the highway. i think it would look like crap to have a screw showing on your covers, it would take away from the only reason to get them. if you insist on having a little extra protection from them being removed, i would get some L brackets, and use a good doublesided tape on the inside of the cover, and the sides of the headlight pockets. that way you wouldn't see screws or brackets.

that is what i was planning screwing them inside against the side of the nose i wasnt really planning on screwing them in on the outside cuz that would look like ****.
so all i have to do is put L brackets.
do i put the tape towards the lens and then screw them in on the nose or what would i do?
