im doing this right now and i had to stop. Im putting a march pulley on my altinator.....what does everyone use to hold the fan from spinning while trying to get the nut off???

 

I always use a decent size flat screwdriver, mind you I am using a impact gun with some high torq, if your just using a ratchet it may not work all that well for you, but worht a try. Just be carefull what you sturdy the screw dirver on, don't want to brake anything..
