T-top Problem/Question

Ok, people, i'm not sure where this post should go so we'll try here first..

i've got a 91 Z28 with t-tops and i keep seeing the different storage "options"
Which one came with my car?
Where are they supposed to be stored/mounted at?
Did the 91s come like this picture? or some other way..

i need to know if something was changed in the 91 year(or possibly the 90-92 series)

I have the hooks that are in front of the rear taillights, but i dont see any provisions for the straps that are supposed to be behind the rear seats.. is it different in 91?

I was under the impression that all thirdgens w/ T-Tops came with the bag and straps. I know there are a few here that made their own to fit in the trunk area. I could be wrong though. Mine has the leather GM bag with the straps as well.

Both my 84 and 86 have the bag w/straps. So does my friend's 92 Z28. Maybe someone removed hardware?

All 3 of my camaros have had t-tops, my 88's both have the bag and straps, my 86 SC however didn't have anything, maybe someone removed it??

You should have provisions for the other straps. You might have to pull up your rear carpet to find the holes. Its just 2 little brackets and then the straps hook to them.

i have the "tabs" on the rear part of the car.. but the part thats behind the seats has nothing.. in the picture in the earlier post, it looks like the car has like a flap or something that covers the dip in the back of the car.. i dont have that at all..

does anyone with a 91Z28/T-tops have a picture of their setup? that would be most helpful

The only other thing i can think of to store your ttops is if you had some type of set up from a 4th gen. They have slots to slide there ttops in, and then there is a little thing to cover them. I have never seen that extention piece in the first pic. Probably just a speaker box.

What are you looking for exactly?? I'm pretty sure the only option of storing the t-tops was with the t-top bag, what other 'options' have you seen??

I would bet the carpet has been replaced and they didn't put the tie downs back on. Just go to a junk yard or the dealership I think still has them. Is yours a 305 or 350?

There will be holes, but you will never find them without lifting up the carpet and checking. When I replaced my carpet I left those 4 screws in and then laid the carpet on top of them and then found where they were and put a little X cut over the top of them with a razor blade and then pushed them through. I think I might have an extra set of the hold downs if you can't find them anywhere, let me know, I'll have to take a look though.

Also I think the option was avaliable on all years, I might be wrong though...

ya, if you dont mind parting with the tie downs, it'll make the project a lot easier- you wouldnt happen to have an extra GM t-top bag would you? lemme know man

Actually I do have an extra t-top bag laying around also, however I believe it needs a new zipper. I had 2, but I cut one up when I made my t-top bag. I'll have to do some checking and get back with you.

sounds good- a broken zipper is better than no bag at all.
how much would you want for the pair(bag/tie-downs)
jburroughs@comcast.net is my email so we can talk there
