I wanna paint my 86 z28. right now its the stock black body on gold ground effects. i wanna do something different to stand out from the rest of the third gen guys around my town. i was thinkin of going onyx black with yellow racing stripes and neon lights, 95 zr1 vette bright blue iridescent with white stripe and neon lights (since blue isnt a cops fav, color) or 69 hugger orange with black racing stripes and orange neon lights. any help with the colors would be great. and i have on it now 91-92 style ground effects, 91-92 z28 wing, and the stock louvered hood. i also have 16" 85-87 chrome iroc wheels, which could have the inserts painted the body color. ( any input on if i should do this would be cool too)

Personally I'd get the car resprayed all in black. Looks way better than having gold gfx IMHO. A good quality paint job in one colour would look great without the need for stripes.

69 Hugger orange and black stripes may look a little old school for the car, and might not team up too well with the neons.

Be sure to post the pics whatever you end up doing.

That looks realls sweet.

But dont let that silver fade to grey, or it may look very bad.

well Id say hugger orange possably with the tuxedo black racing stripies or even jet black with some heritage stripes in hugger orange my not look too bad and would definately be fifferent.

 

i was thinkin the same about hugger orange being a little old school, i was think something a little newer, like candy apple oragne sparkle or maybe sunset orange. with or without the stripes. im keepin the neon beacause i think that they would look hella cool at night doing about 75 down the interstate

SOM is a sweet color, but GM is starting to put it on everything now......

For a sweet looking orange, check ot Orbit Orange, from the '70s GTOs. The best orange IMO.

I wouldn't go with yellow. Its a very rare care that looks good yellow.

 

actually the color on the GTO's back then was called Carisle Red, even though its not so red.

 

i was going to use orange neon with the sunset orange paint job. im not completly set on the orange color, i just think it would be a unusual color on a third gen. Im open for any other color suggestions u guys have.......except for anything super bright like "Iblinduinsunlight yellow" or something like that, i have enough tickets i dont need that much attention.

Thanks for the compliment! The coolest orange I've seen yet is Lamborghini Orange. My friend is getting his Z06 painted that color for an upcomming show. Its also special because that color is only avalable on the Euro spec Lambo's, not US spec Lambo's. Very bright orange, in the sun you can see red and yellow at different angles. Very expensive too.
