Hey new here. Coming down from the 4th gen ranks!!!! wheel/tire questions.

Hey looking to get a 87-90 TA or GTA. my question is: Can a 17x11 and 17x9.5 combo fit on a third gen? If not what is the largest tire out back without doing a small tub? Any pics would be awesome as well.

thanks again

Without getting into pounding general size seems to be:

17x9.5 5.5" backspace
275/40 tires

with a little fender "massaging" and the correct backspacing or spacers, people are running up to a 17x12 with a 335/35r17 out back. So yes you can run a 17x11 check out www.skulte.com, there is a write up on his webpage about the correct spacers that are needed and he even sells them. You can run a 17x11 out back with 6" of backspacing and a 17x9.5 up front with 5.5"
