To get it that good, you need certain equipment. You can get it very close with some sandpaper, buffing wheels, and compounds. Try a search for "polishing rims" and you'll find tons of posts. I use the method in this post:

I believe that is import intake/plenum judging from where the intake tube is and the way it faces foward since most 4 bangers are sideways. I could be wrong, feel free to correct me.

That intake looks like it's off of a 6cyl F-Body to me. I think the 3.4 liters had those intakes?

This is a 2.8 intake. You definatley need at least a buffing wheel in order to get a shine like that. You would probably need a dremmel in order to get all the little corners and everything. Big pain in the ***. You might just want to have the parts powder coated.

That's mikes intake, which I'm sure he'll come in here and talk about. Everytime he posts one of his items, a post such as this pops up.

He's very good at polishing, I promise you, if you plan to just up and try to polish something, it won't come out nearly as good as that. I've got alot of the equipment mike has, yet I can't do anything nearly as good as he can.

It just takes practice. He should have his shop up and running before long, it may be easier just to wait and pay him.

Thanks for the compliments Matt My shop is up and completely running now
Thats my plenum and i'll attach one with the whole setup installed, lol I even went thru the trouble of polishing the egr :sillylol:
Theres 2 ways to go about polishing stuff, 1 way is to hand sand and buff and the other way is to use power tools and polishing wheels and compounds. The hand sanding technique is wayyyyyyyy cheap compared to the expenses of getting all the proper equiptment, but the quality is less than what can be acomplished with polishing equiptment. Dont get me wrong you can make hand polishing look killer, it just takes lots of time and energy.
I hope to be able to chrome stuff if I can come up with the money to get the proper equiptment.
