Matching paint for body, wheels, engine

I was about to start painting some body panels and started thinking. How do show cars match paint like the engine block or valve colors with the paint on the body. The engine would need some high heat paint which would be totally different paint from the body paint. How do they get these to match? Wheels and body are the same way. If I wanted to powdercoat my wheels for durability how would I match the body color? Clearly I am new to the painting world.

Thanks,

Glen

Most automotive urethane paints are durable enough to withstand the temprature of the engine (which should hopefully be staying in the 180-220º range). I have DAP household gloss black on my heads/block without any problems so far. Just make sure what you're painting is as clean as you can get it.
